Topografía cultural en la literatura de viajes alemana. Un recorrido por la Valencia del siglo XX (original) (raw)
2017
Abstract
Looking at Spanish-German cultural transference from a historical perspective allows one to observe how the perception, transmission and reception of certain Spanish cultural topographies by German travellers have changed over the years. At the beginning of the twentieth century, several of these travellers on their visit to this still relatively unexplored country decided to include the Levantine coast, that featured the city of Valencia as the most outstanding sojourn. They became witnesses of the gradual modernization of the so called Cap i Casal, another name for Valencia, and its transformation into the emblematic – sometimes even traumatic – cultural topography it represents at present.
