Phosphoprotein phosphatase of human central nervous system myelin (original) (raw)
This study investigates the presence and properties of a high molecular weight phosphoprotein phosphatase (PPase) in human central nervous system myelin. The enzyme, which has a molecular weight of 250,000, can be converted to a lower molecular weight form of 46,000, which has been purified. The research highlights the substrate specificity and activation of the PPase by divalent cations, providing details on the enzyme's purification process and its significant activity with specific phosphoproteins.
