2012

Geometry is one of lessons that teachers and students often complain with. Teachers, sometimes, do not optimally use teaching media, while a better way to teach geometry is through media. Macromedia Flash is one of computerized media that can be used to teach geometry. This paper discusses a research report about the implementation of macromedia flash in learning mathematics (geometry). The result of this study is that the students who are taught through using macromedia flash shows better result in geometry than they are who do not. Moreover, the research also found an increasing on student activities that are taught through macromedia flash.

Developing of Flat BuildingMedia in Using Macromedia Flash Postgraduate Program of Medan State University

Proceedings of the 3rd Annual International Seminar on Transformative Education and Educational Leadership (AISTEEL 2018)

This research were motivated by 1) the importance of the media in delivering learning material to make it more interesting; (2) there was no learning media on flat building material by developing Macromedia Flash Professional applications in the form of CD (Compact Disk); (3) Student learning outcomes were still low and had not yet reached the KKM, (4) SDN 104258 PematangBiara had complete learning facilities but it was not utilized; (5) Students often find it difficult to learn mathematics; (6) difficulty in flatbuilding material; (7) The media used was not varied so that it caused boredom in students. The goal that should been achieved in the effort to develop this learning media was to produce valid, practical and effective mathematics teaching materials. This type of research was research and development. The development model used was referring to Research and Development (R & D) from the Borg and Gall model. The research data from the validity test was obtained through the validation material for teaching materials. Practical data was collected through the response of teachers and students. Effectiveness could be seen from student learning outcomes through pretest and posttest scores. The collected data were analyzed descriptively. The results of the validity test showed that the resulting mathematics teaching material was valid. The results of observations and questionnaires stated that this learning tool was practical. At the effectiveness test stage, the Paired Sample T Test results obtained that the T count value was-5.311 when compared with the Ttable value of-2.028 thus it could be seen that T count > T table could be interpreted that the average value of students' mathematics learning outcomes was higher after using Macromedia media Flash (Postes) was compared before using Macromedia Flash (Prestes) media. Based on these results, it could be concluded that the learning media was flat building with using macromedia flash for the fourth grade students of SDN 104258 PematanBiara which has been produced can be declared valid, practical, and effective.

International Journal on Emerging Mathematics Education

This study aims to describe the level of students' geometry thinking based on Van Hiele's thinking theory, the level of students' geometric problem solving abilities, and analyzing students' difficulties in solving geometric problems. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research. The researcher took six research subjects consisting of low, medium, and high level geometry problem solving abilities to be interviewed and analyzed the types of difficulties experienced. The results of this study indicate that there are 26 students reaching level 0 (visualization), 21 students reach level 1 (analysis), 13 students reach level 2 (informal deduction), 6 students reach level 3 (deduction) and no one can reach level 4 (rigor). Furthermore, there are 13 students who have a low level of problem solving ability, 7 students have a medium level of problem solving ability, and 6 students have a high level of problem solving ability. The difficulties experienced by the research subject are described in each problem.
