Abstract
Authors: Joe Powell, Victoria Jones, Katarina Luce, Jennifer McElwee and Mark Haydon-Laurelut Accessible summary: • We wanted to record and think about the effects of the pandemic on people with learning disabilities, their families and supporters and what that means for our communities. • We took turns to talk in twos and think about what the others were saying. This is called a reflecting conversation. • There have been more human rights abuses of people with learning disabilities since the pandemic started. This has a big effect on them, their families and our communities. • The pandemic has shown that our communities have everything they need to be really inclusive of everyone. • Family therapists can be curious about the effects of the pandemic on people who have been labelled with a learning disability, their families and supporters.
