A simulation framework to study the impacts of loading/unloading areas on the urban traffic (original) (raw)

2019 International Colloquium on Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LOGISTIQUA), 2019

Abstract

The planning of the urban traffic that meets all the requirements of mobility, constitute the basis of the realization of the economic and social activities effective within an agglomeration. Among the operational measures to improve the circulation of the urban freight vehicles, the loading/unloading areas represent an opportunity for the organization of deliveries and the improvement of the fluidity of road traffic. In this context, the objective of this article is to use the dynamic simulation to study the impact of the implementation of loading/unloading areas on the road traffic in the case of a commercial street. From then on, this paper is split into two parts. In the first part, we presented the main usual notions in the field of road traffic. In order to initiate the choice of the simulation tool, we proposed an overview of models and tools for dynamic simulation of road traffic. In the second part of this work, we proposed a methodology for dynamic simulation of the impacts of the implementation of loading/unloading areas on the traffic flow at the level of a commercial zone.
