INDUSTRY 4.0 AND LOGISTICS 4.0 The term "Industry 4.0" was first used in a high-tech-strategy project of the German government. (Compare [1] [2]) The term is based on the nomenclature of software and is used as a synonym for the fourth industrial revolution. Basics of Industry 4.0 (Compare [3]) are the availability of relevant information in real-time by networking of all elements which are involved in the creation of value, the ability to deduce optimal value-added processes from the information and data at any time and the realization of an information-integrated value-added process. The use of cyber-physical systems (CPS) best describes Industry 4.0. This means the integration of computation, networking and real, physical things, which provide the base for new business models and business solutions. The term Logistics 4.0 brands the specific application of Industry 4.0 in the area of logistics. Logistics means the management of the flow of people, animals and things between an origin and the point of consumption to fulfil the requirements of the customer. DIGITAL SMART LOGISTICS. MANAGING SUPPLY CHAIN 4.0: CONCEPTS, COMPONENTS AND STRATEGIC PERSPECTIVE
ISMC 2019 15th International Strategic Management Conference , 2019
Fast pace of development of ICT over last decades led to enormous transformations in many spheres of economic and social life. Impossible has become possible, dreams have become reality. The proof for this is the concept of Industry 4.0. It's not only a buzzword now. It has become a business practice and a well-established research area with a rapidly growing body of knowledge. Its size can be defined by Google Scholar that returns over 32000 search results when asked about Industry 4.0. Logistics is also the beneficiary of these changes. It has become digital and is becoming smart. As such, it becomes a process that, to the greatest extent, shifts supply chains from the inside to make them fully supportive to the concept of Industry 4.0. On the basis of a simple transcription we can call such structures Supply Chains 4.0. The purpose of the paper is to deliberate on the Supply Chain 4.0 concept, its delimitation, drivers and barriers, and to define its capabilities to create value under conditions of Industry 4.0 in order to give the discussion a strategic management perspective. Major recent developments in ICT as well as seminal theoretical advances will be taken into account to cope with the operationalization of Supply Chains 4.0 while providing a theoretical point of view on supply chain design, its operational performance and process maturity. The paper aims to designate new paths of scientific cognition, to open new avenues of detailed research, and to fine-tune scientific discussion in the field.
An exploratory study on emerging technologies applied to logistics 4.0
Gestão & Produção
The concept of Logistics 4.0 works closely to that of Industry 4.0. While Industry 4.0 proposes a disruptive change in manufacturing, Logistics 4.0 advocates a transformation in the way organizations buy, manufacture, sell, and deliver products. The objective of this paper is to identify, in Brazilian companies, the degree of interest in the investment in six emerging technologies applicable to logistics, according to scientific literature, as well as to identify the current perception of data quality of these companies. To achieve these objectives, an online survey was conducted. The research showed that the technologies that most interest Brazilian companies are Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud computing, both with 82% of investment intention. The two technologies that least interested companies are crowdsourcing and 3D printing, both with 68% investment disinterest among respondents.

Factors that determine the effect of using automated management systems (AMS) in logistics are no longer just industrial, but also social and environmental, related to different structures in different parts of the world. In the current stage of industrial development, they are already forming the concept of modern production development using artificial intelligence and in logistics. Technological impacts dictate the tendency to continuously reduce manual, heavy and unattractive labor at the expense of higher productivity. The social aspect demands the discovery of new or preserving old jobs, and the environmental aspect imposes a lasting trend towards compliance with environmental standards and sustainable development parameters. The purpose of this report is to explore these differently impacting factors and on this basis to build an AMS of logistics across the value chain with the ability to incorporate digital intelligence.
