The Corps of Engineers' New Hydropower Manual (original) (raw)

1986

Abstract

The Corps of Engineers has recently completed a new Engineering Manual (EM), which outlines procedures used for the evaluation of hydropower projects. It will serve as the basic Corps reference document on hydropower planning and design for all levels of study. It covers a variety of topics, including hydrologic data requirements, estimating energy potential, powerplant sizing, pumped-storage hydro, need for hydropower, and economic analysis.
