Character Education in Baduy Tribe Communities in Indonesia

Baduy tribe is one of the tribes in Indonesia. Baduy tribal people who live in nature and always maintain the balance of their nature through traditional rules (pikukuh karuhun and pikukuh sapuluh). The purpose of this research is to find out the form and pikukuh ancestors they hold to date in character educators in elementary school children. The approach in this study used a qualitative approach with the spredly ethnographic method. Data collection techniques using interviews, documentation, field surveys, and field notes. In the technical analysis of data using the triangulation method. The results obtained are that the Baduy tribe community in character building for elementary school age children with the principles of being taught, accustomed, exemplified and enforced strict rules so as to form strong, obedient and obedient personal characters in carrying out the mandate of their ancestors and culture.

Learning Local Wisdom for Character Education: an Insight from Choblong Sundanese Village in Indonesia

The purpose of this study is to describe the various local wisdom and describe the diverse character education, which contain in local wisdom in the Sundanese society of Choblong, Cisarua village located in Bogor, West Java, Indonesia. Observation method is the best way to collect information and understand local culture in a society. The local wisdom of these Choblong villagers is believed to have a useful contribution to the values of character education that must always be taught and preserved for the benefit of subsequent regeneration. The local wisdom of the Choblong village can be penetrated to school curriculum for preparing their next generations and the cultural preservation. Although there are many adjustments required when immersion between local culture and school curriculum, but it is possible if the applications of carefully selected local culture are given in their local environmental settings.

LEARNING BASED VALUE OF CHARACTER IN EFFORTS LOCAL CULTURAL AND DEVELOPMENT MELAYU-LANGKAT.

This research is motivated by the facts and demands that the learning of Islamic Religious Education is actually loaded with character values in accordance with the demands of the characteristic curriculum in 2013. The fact to develop values and characters is not easy. Especially should emphasize the need for local wisdom of Malay Langkat culture in accordance with Islamic Religious concepts. To answer the problem, then do research in Madrasah Aliyah Se-Town Tanjung Pura with respondents as much as 6 teachers PAI. While the population of 1011 people and samples taken by 35% (354 students). Sampling is based on the national exam passing grade of the school (high, medium and low ranking school category). Data collection through questionnaire, observation and interview with descriptive analysis technique. The results of data analysis showed the overall score of each indicator is known to be on score: 77.404% which means that the development of the character value has been done in good category. Similarly, the student\'s statement on the teacher\'s efforts in implementing the character\'s values on culture is at a good level, shown by the score: 71,66%.

This research is motivated by the curiosity about the indigenous traditions of Ngabungbang in Kampung Adat Kasepuhan Ciptagelar, Sukabumi Regency, held every 14th of Mulud, the month of the Prophet Muhammad’s birth. Sundanese Ciptagelar people have the view that the 14th night of the month Mulud has special privileges. Therefore, the residents of the community of Ciptagelar always use the night to seek blessings, especially for the supernatural Seekers (kanuragan). One of the activities that are commonly implemented is flower batha in Cibareno River. Mandailing and Angkola culture are a culture that combines Islamic traditions and religions or is known as "Hombar do adat dohot ugamo" in their life. The existing Islamic character education values in Mandailing and Angkola communities in the North Sumatra province are constructed in such a way that the Mandailing and Angkola Communities’ character is different from other communities.
