Volleyball Information System for Volleyball Performance Assessment

This study aimed to test the application of the volleyball information system (VIS) based performance appraisal model to assess the performance of volleyball athletes. The research method used a quasi-experimental design with interrupted times-series design. Participants in the study were 12 volleyball athletes who were trained at one of the volleyball clubs in Bandung, Indonesia, aged 15-17. The instrument used in this research was the observation format developed from the VIS FIVB 2005 which measured six skills to play volleyball, namely serve, receive, set, spike, block, and dig. All data from the measurement results of the VIS assessment model were analysed using the one-way analysis technique of variance in the overtime measurement (repeated measures ANOVA). The results of the study proved that the VIS-based performance assessment model has a significant impact on improving the basic skills of playing volleyball. The result of analysis concludes that the implementation of the VIS-based performance assessment instrument model can be used in the volleyball training process and contributes to improving the basic skills of volleyball performance.

This study aims to estimate the value of the content validity of assessment instruments in playing volley ball with the basis of volleyball information system (VIS) on the basic skills namely serve, receive, set, block, spike and dig. The study was conducted toward 12 students as practitioners and five lecturers as academics of volleyball who are known as Subject Metter Experts (SME). This preliminary study was conducted in Bandung, Indonesia, by utilizing Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to assess the appropriateness of the basic skill items which are developed to assess student performance when they are playing volleyball. The instrument used is modified from the VIS that is developed by the Volleyball International Federation (FIVB) in 2005 with six main criteria, namely the serve, receive, set, block, spike and dig. The results of data analysis is gained by using the estimation of content validity (Lawshe's CVR), it resulted the value ratio between 0.60 until the 1.00. The score exceed the minimum threshold criteria 0:50 as the standard that value ratio is acceptable. Thus, the results of the validation shows that the early stages of assessment instruments based on VIS is proven valid in measuring the content of the performance of volleyball playing for high school students. This study aimed to analyze the performance of students in volleyball learning by using the Modified Volleyball Information System assessment. This research used the quantitative descriptive method. A total of 99 male students with an age range of 15-18 years (Mean=17.04, SD=0.67) were involved in learning the game of volleyball at the high school level (SMA) in Bandung, Indonesia. The research instrument was a Modified Volleyball Information System application that measures six basic volleyball skills in the playing process, namely service, receive, set, spike, block, and dig. The results of the analysis prove that the student's performance in performing volleyball skills can be described by the percentage of success ranging from 36% to 90%, while the percentage of failure ranges from 10% to 64%. In addition, there was a positive correlation between basic skill scores and the overall score obtained by students after completing the game. Based on the analysis results, it can be concluded that using the Modified Volleyball Information System application in volleyball learning can be one of the parameters to see students’ abilities in carrying out movement tasks. The use of a Modified Volleyball Information System in the context of volleyball learning in schools can be an alternative assessment used by teachers, so that teachers can provide direct feedback to students about the learning outcomes that have been implemented.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the technical performance of team performance in an event of the main division in Indonesia. The sample of this study was the players’ performance of the winning team. The data were collected using the Volleyball Tactical Information Skill (VTIS) software which is originally developed by the researcher based on the Volleyball Information System (VIS). The data collected using the VTIS includes service, ball receive, attack, toss, block, and dig that was performed by each player throughout the game. The statistical data is presented on average and percentage. The statistical data obtained from VTIS has been proven to be useful and provides valuable information for the team's technical performance.
Need Analysis for The Development Passing Test for Volleyball Games

This study aims to analyze the need for the development of a passing test kit in volleyball games. This research uses quantitative descriptive method. The subjects of the research were physical education students from Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Unsri, totaling 144 students. Data collected through techniques survey with instruments in the form of questionnaire with google form. Questionnaire is used for find out student opinions related to the needs of the developed test kits. This research was conducted in July 2021. The results showed that the subject needed the development of a sensor-based upper and lower pass test kit. Subjective needs are found through the students' personal needs (self-assessment) using lists and scales, and questionnaires. The subjects in this study were students of physical education and health, faculty of teacher training and education Universitas Sriwijaya, totaling 144 people. This stage has 5 types of analysis that must be surveyed, including analysis objective, analysis of the state of research, analysis of the state of research, analysis research environmental, and content analysis. The results of the analysis research, it can be found that there is a need for the development of the upper and lower pass test equipment so that the test can run well, and the analysis became the basis for developing a sensor-based upper and lower pass test tool for volleyball games that would be given to research subjects to be a solution in the upper and lower passing tests volleyball games so that they were more effective and efficient.

This study was conducted to assess the validity and reliability of comprehensive assessment instruments for professional skills in field and court sport courses on major students in Faculty of Sports Science and Coaching based on K Model. Netball, soccer, hockey, volleyball, basketball and handball were selected as professional skills in field and court sport courses to be studied. Measuring instrument has been made and it consists of cognitive ), psychomotor (Dave, 1970 and affective domains . The results showed the validity of the comprehensive assessment instruments for professional skills in field and court sport courses was r = 0.90 (N = 7), while the reliability was r = 0.81 (N = 180). The inter observer agreement between examiners was 70.11% (SD = 0.5, N = 6).

Development of a Volleyball Test Instrument Model

This study's problem stems from that the volleyball skills test instrument used so far has not fully measured the volleyball skills possessed by athletes. Therefore, it is necessary to have an adequate instrument to assess these two sides, both in accuracy and motion evaluation. This research developed a volleyball skill test instrument such as the bottom pass, smash, and top service that involved athletes and volleyball coaches from West Sumatra. It was conducted at 5 West Sumatra volleyball clubs, totaling 60 athletes. In the first stage, a limited trial was carried out on 25 athletes from the total population. The second stage was tested on 60 athletes and involved 21 trainers for both practicality testing and effectiveness testing. The standardization process was carried out through several tests, namely: (1) validity testing, (2) reliability testing, (3) practicality testing, and (4) effectiveness testing. The resulting volleyball skill instrument consists of three instruments, namely (1) the lower passing instrument, (2) the Smash instrument, and (3) the upper service instrument. The three instruments' applicability has also been tested in practical terms with an average achievement of 85.17 and effectiveness with an average of 85 (practical) usability. This study concludes that creating a standard instrument can be used to test the three mastery of volleyball skills, namely the lower pass, smash, and volleyball service skills.
