Abstrak This study was conducted to ascertain the effect of adding probiotic into feed on the quality of quail's eggs. Lactobacillus salivarius encapsulation (Ls encaps) was used as probiotic. A randomized block design was used to assign four levels of Ls encaps administration, that is P0 = Standard feed without Ls encaps, P1 = P0 + 10 7 cells/g Ls encaps, P2 = P0 + 10 8 cells/g Ls encaps and P3 = P0 + 10 9 cells/g Ls encaps. The results showed that adding Ls encaps did not alter significant egg quality (egg weight, the level protein of egg, and egg shell) but it significantly lowered cholesterol content in egg. In conclusion, L. Salivarius encaps may be used as a feed additive in quail diets to reduce egg cholesterol content.43.85 %, respectively. In conclusion, Ls encaps may be used as a feed additive for quail to enhance egg quality leading to improve our health.

This research aims to improve the external quality of quail eggs both in terms of eggs full weight, eggs index, and eggshell thickness. This research also provides information of the effect of the treatment that has been tested on the external quality of quail eggs. Quail used is layer quailstrain Coturnix coturnix japonica produced by CV. Slamet Quail Farm as many as 225 quails. The feed used is commercial feed with trade mark SP2 produced by PT. Sinta Feedmill and the experimental layout used was Complete Random Layout (RAL) with the following treatment is: P0 (commercial feed without the addition of ginger flour and turmeric flour), P1 (Provision of commercial feed with addition of 1% ginger flour), P2 (provision of commercial feed with addition of 1% turmeric flour), and P3 (Provision of commercial feed with 0.5% addition of ginger flour and 0.5% turmeric flour). Desa Panggangsari khususnya Kelompok Ternak Rambon Sari dan Branjangan memiliki populasi itik mencapai 13.650 ekor. Jumlah tersebut menunjukkan usaha ternak itik di Kecamatan Losari sangat potensial untuk dikembangkan. Sampel yang digunakan dalam kaji terap adalah 120 ekor itik dengan umur 9 bulan sampai 10 bulan. Tujuan studi ini adalah kaji terap terhadap pengaruh pemberian probiotik Rabal Plus terhadap peningkatan produksi dan kualitas telur. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of the addition of feed additives in the form of cassava peels combined with Lactic Acid Bacteria on the initial performance of quail egg production. The material used was 240 4-weeks old female quail with an average body weight of 98.70 ± 2.30 g and cassava peel combined with Lactic Acid Bacteria. The design used in the study was a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 6 replications, each experimental unit consisted of 10 quails. The treatments were as follows: T0: Basal ration, T1: Basal ration + 100 ml / kg feed additive, T2: Basal ration + 150 ml / kg feed additive, T3: Basal ration + 200 ml / kg feed additive. The parameters observed were body weight, egg weight, egg production, feed consumption and feed conversion. The data obtained were analyzed variance with a significant level of 5%, if there was a real treatment effect followed by Duncan's multiple region test. The results showed that the addition of feed additives significantly (P <0.05) increased feed consumption, body weight, egg production and feed conversion at the beginning of production but did not significantly (P> 0.05) affect on egg weight. The conclusion of this study was the addition of feed additives in the form of cassava peel combined with Lactobacillus sp. can improve the initial performance of quail egg production up to the level of 150 ml / kg ration.

Iron deficiency anemia is a decreasing number of red blood cells in the blood caused by too little iron in the blood system, especially for the adolescents. To increase the hemoglobin levels can be done by consuming lots of foods that contain a high protein and iron. Quail eggs have a higher protein and iron content among other eggs. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama 16 minggu bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kombinasi bakteri probiotik berbeda terhadap sintasan dan produksi udang windu di tambak semi-intensif dengan padat penebaran tokolan 10 ekor/m2. Tiga kombinasi bakteri probiotik yang diuji adalah: A) Kombinasi bakteri probiotik A (BL542+ MR55+BT951); B) Pergiliran bakteri probiotik BL542 pada bulan I, MR55 bulan II, BT951 bulan III, dan BL542 bulan IV; dan (C) Pergiliran bakteri probiotik BT951 pada bulan I, MY1112 bulan II, BL542 bulan III, dan BT951 bulan IV. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh tepung daun pepaya (Carica papaya) dalam ransum terhadap performans produksi telur puyuh (Coturnix coturnix japonica). Data dianalisis menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap, yang terdiri dari empat perlakuan yaitu 0, 2%, 4%, dan 6% penambahan tepung daun pepaya dengan menggunakan puyuh umur 36 minggu sebanyak 80 ekor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan tepung daun pepaya dalam ransum sampai taraf 6% berpengaruh nyata (P<0,01) terhadap konsumsi dan konversi ransum namun tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap produksi telur dan berat telur. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian tepung daun pepaya dalam ransum puyuh petelur sampai taraf 6% dapat menurunkan konsumsi dan konversi ransum tanpa menurunkan produksi telur dan berat telur puyuh. Suplementasi Biji Semangka dalam Ransum Terhadap Kualitas Telur Fungsional Ayam Kampung

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh suplementasi biji semangka dalam pakan ayam kampung untuk menghasilkan telur fungsional. Tujuan jangka panjang adalah memanfaatkan bahan pakan lokal untuk menghasilkan telur fungsional. Biji semangka sebagai sumber mineral organik digunakan untuk menghasilkan telur fungsional. Seratus butir telur ayam persilangan kedu-bangkok digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan menggunakan 4 perlakuan dan 5 kali ulangan dimana masing-masing ulangan terdiri 5 ekor ayam. Pakan perlakuan terdiri dari pakan basal + level penambahan tepung biji semangka sebanyak 0% (P0), 0,05%(P1), 0,075% (P2) dan 0,1% (P3). Dapat disimpulakan bahwa suplementasi biji semangka berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap haugh unit sebesar 92,33, sedangkan pada tinggi putih telur P3 berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) yakni sebesar 8 mm dan mampu meningkatkan kandungan Fe dalam telur secara sangat nyata (P<0,01) dengan nilai 3,78 mg/100g. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa suplemetasi biji semangka sebagai sumber mineral Fe mampu meningkatkan kualitas telur fungsional.

The aim of the study is to evaluate golden snail flour (Pomacea canaliculata Lamarck) and supplementation of probiotics in rations on the performance of Pekin duck. The study used 100 DOD of Pekin duck. The study was designed into Completely Randomized Design consisting of 5 treatments and four replicates. Rations used during the first month was a commercial ration, and there after was ration as the treatments: R1 = Ration (control); R2 = Ration containing of golden snail flour 4% and probiotic 0,5 ml; R3 = Ration containing of golden snail flour 6% and probiotic 0,5 ml; R4 = Ration containing of golden snail flour 8% and probiotic 0,5 ml; and R5= Ration containing of golden snail flour 10% and probiotic 0,5 ml. The observed variables feed consumption, body weight gain, final body weight, feed conversion, and mortality. Data was analiyzed by ANOVA and Duncan. The results showed that the golden snail flour and supplementation probiotics was significantly (P<0.05) influence on the performance of the Pekin duck. Effect of 8-10% golden snail flour and supplementation probiotics of ration significantly (P<0.05) on final body weight and feed conversion of Pekin duck. It is concluded that 8-10% golden snail flour and supplementation of 0.5 ml probiotics in rations able to increase body weight gain and decrease mortality of Pekin duck.
