Knowledge and Practice towards COVID-19 among Students of Al-Bayan University

Introduction: On 12 March 2020, world health organization (WHO) declared that COVID-19 was a global pandemic when more than million humans were infected in more than 200 countries in less than four months. To limit its spread, WHO recommended preventive measures such as hand washing frequently, social distancing, and face mask wearing. Public knowledge and practice towards the disease is important. Aim of study: We assess the level of knowledge and practices towards COVID-19 among students in Al-Bayan University. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted to gather information regarding the COVID-19 related knowledge and practices among undergraduates. This survey was conducted between October 10 till October 15,2020. Results:351 students were participated from medical and non-medical colleges by completing the questionnaire online. The overall correct answer rate of the knowledge questionnaire was 85.71% and 86.22% of them practicing preventive measures according to WHO guidelines and instructions of ministry of health(MOH). There were no significant differences in knowledge and practices between medical and non-medical. Conclusion: The students have moderate knowledge and appropriate practices towards COVID-19, this indicates the success and the efficacy of the of campaigns and the advertisements announced by WHO and the local MOH.

The spread of COVID-19 can occur in various settings but most notably in gathering places. Health protocols to avoid the spread of COVID-19 may be influenced by the knowledge and attitude of individuals. This study examined the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of students at the Islamic Boarding School X in Serang City, Banten Province, Indonesia, with the COVID-19 incidence. A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional study design was used. The study population consisted of 994 students, from which (via the Slovin’s formula) a minimum sample size of 285 students was obtained. Data collection was carried out using an online validated questionnaire. The data collected related to age, sex, education level, knowledge level, attitude, behavior, and the COVID-19 incidence as experienced by the respondents. Awareness of an individual's knowledge and being able to predict his or her behavior is crucial when evaluating participants for pandemics with a highly pathogenic virus. This study aimed to identify and assess Knowledge, Awareness, and Attitude Regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Infection Control and Prevention among Students and Staff in Alghad College in JEDDAH from 3 rd March 2020to 20 April 2020. About 90 participants students and academic staff selected randomly with different ages between (20-45 years old) fill out the questionnaire forms, a Results: the females were more than male, 67.8% of the sample were females (32.2%) were male. The students were 63.3%while the academic staff was 36.7%. Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a rapidly expanding pandemic caused by a novel human coronavirus. As the outbreak has impacted all stakeholders in the education sector, including university students, it is believed that to facilitate the outbreak management of COVID-19 in Saudi Arabia, this study was aimed to understand the public's awareness of COVID-19. In this study, we aimed to investigate the knowledge, attitude, and practices associated with COVID-19 among Qassim University students during the period of the COVID-19 outbreak. Methodology: A cross-sectional study was conducted using a validated questionnaire and involving students from various health specialties enrolled at Qassim University in Saudi Arabia. The sample size was 303 students (209 males and 94 females). Age varied from 18 to 28 years old, but most (74.9%) were aged between 21 and 24 years old. Results: Regarding participants' knowledge about COVID-19, the total mean score was 4.33 (SD = 0.77) out of 5 points, indicating that most of the students (85.8%) had good knowledge. Concerning attitude toward COVID-19, the total mean score was 3.35 (SD = 1.09), which means that participants were approximately divided in half between the positive and negative attitudes. Concerning practices, the mean score was 3.52 (SD = 0.96), with 44.6% and 55.4% compromising inactive and proactive approaches, respectively. Conclusion: The outcome of this cross-sectional study shows that most of the Qassim University students belonging to different medical fields were well informed of basic information and has positive attitudes, and proactive practices toward COVID-19, indicating the efficacy of the current public health campaign.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. Efforts are being made all over the world to raise awareness in order to prevent the disease from spreading. The purpose of this study was to assess undergraduate healthcare students' attitudes, perceptions, and knowledge of COVID-19 disease. We conducted a cross- sectional survey in which a questionnaire with 12 questions was transformed online on Google forms and distributed online to healthcare students. Data was collected between May and June of 2021. The convenience sampling technique was used, resulting in a sample size of 926 people. A total of 926 individual questionnaires were evaluated. Background: The numbers of infections and death by COVID-19 have continued to rise worldwide and preventive practice has remained to be one of the most effective ways to prevent it. We conducted this study to survey the knowledge, attitude, perception and practice of university students during the early stage of the pandemic in Bangladesh. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study with 305 students from Rajshahi University, conducted between March 11 and March 19, 2020. BACKGROUND: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a global public health problem and has evolved to become a pandemic crisis around the world, which is caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome, coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). In response to this serious situation, COVID-19 was declared as a public health emergency of international concern by the World Health Organization (WHO) on January 30 and called for collaborative efforts of all countries to prevent the rapid spread of COVID-19.Somaliland reported the territory's first two cases of coronavirus on TuesdayMar 31, 2020. Health officials in the capital, Hargeisa, said samples taken from two individuals-a local man who visited Britain and a Chinese man-had tested positive for COVID-19. METHOD:A cross-sectional online survey was conducted fromMay to July 2020 among 270 Participants University of Hargeisa students using the Google form platform. Practices, Attitudes and Knowledge of COVID-19 among the University Students of LCWU, Lahore

The primary goal of this study was to analyze COVID-19-related knowledge, attitudes, and practices among Lahore College for Women University students (LCWU). Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out among LCWU students. Data was collected using a self-administered questionnaire and processed using a Google Form. The data was analyzed statistically. Results: The total number of responses received was 114. According to our research, 98 percent of respondents were familiar with COVID-19, with 51.8 percent receiving information via social media. 68.4 percent thought the virus was contagious, 95.60 percent thought it was spread by respiratory droplets, and 24.8 percent thought the elderly and children were at risk. 93.9 percent of participants were aware of social/physical distancing and believed that it could help to prevent infection, 95.5 percent believed that cough and fever could be signs and symptoms of COVID-19, and 106 (93 percent) claimed that staying at home could help to prevent the disease from spreading. Conclusion: It was observed that the majority of individuals were aware of COVID-19, with 90% of the population knowing about it. There is an ever-increasing need for COVID-19 knowledge among the local populace. It will assist in the prevention of COVID-19 transfer with minimal secondary transmission. Extensive survey studies are needed to offer supporting evidence in the development and implementation of public health policies related to the COVID-19 pandemic. It would help to regulate and stop the spread of COVID-19 across the country.

Medical Students and COVID-19: Knowledge, Attitudes, and Precautionary Measures. A Descriptive Study From Jordan

The recent coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic is associated with increasing morbidity and mortality and has impacted the lives of the global populations. Human behavior and knowledge assessment during the crisis are critical in the overall efforts to contain the outbreak. To assess knowledge, attitude, perceptions, and precautionary measures toward COVID-19 among a sample of medical students in Jordan. This is a cross-sectional descriptive study conducted between the 16th and 19th of March 2020. Participants were students enrolled in different levels of study at the six medical schools in Jordan. An online questionnaire which was posted on online platforms was used. The questionnaire consisted of four main sections: socio-demographics, sources of information, knowledge attitudes, and precautionary measures regarding COVID-19. Medical students used mostly social media (83.4%) and online search engines (84.8%) as their preferred source of information on COVID-19 and relied less on medical search engines (64.1%). Most students believed that hand shaking (93.7%), kissing (94.7%), exposure to contaminated surfaces (97.4%), and droplet inhalation (91.0%) are the primary mode of transmission but were indecisive regarding airborne transmission with only 41.8% in support. Participants also reported that elderly with chronic illnesses are the most susceptible group for the coronavirus infection (95.0%). As a response to the COVID-19 pandemic more than 80.0% of study participants adopted social isolation strategies, regular hand washing, and enhanced personal hygiene measures as their first line of defense against the virus. In conclusion, Jordanian medical students showed expected level of knowledge about the COVID-19 virus and implemented proper strategies to prevent its spread.
