Turkish Women have been involved in the defense of the country since the first days of the War of Independence and provided outstanding services. First of all, they made an effort for the rise of national resistance, and at the rallies, as female orators, Halide Edip, Şukufe Nihal, Zehra Hanım, Münevver Saime, Hayriye Melek made speeches that raised national consciousness and made calls to fight against the enemy. They established associations, took part in the supply of Kuva-yi Milliye and supported the national operation materially and morally. In addition, some of them participated in the battles on various fronts against the enemy, especially in the Battles of İnönü. In our study, information about the lives of Corporal Nezahat (Baysal) and Major Ayşe Altuntaş, who also participated in the Battles of İnönü, were presented by mentioning the services of Turkish women in the War of Independence.
