This article is based on the historical relationships models between technological innovation and teaching innovation modelized by Christian Puren. After summarizing how information technologies are applied in the French Department of Renmin University of China, the author carries out some reflections on the opportunity to promote or not to the teaching/learning of French as a foreign language (FLE) by means of information technology in education and to extend her thought by analyzing the possible trends of the teaching/learning of foreign languages in digital environment in Chinese higher education.
