Study the relationship between emotional intelligence and Academic achievement of school students

The objective of this study is to examine the relationship between emotional intelligence and Mathematic success of students. This research is descriptive with the use of correlation . The sample volume is 304 people, according to the Cochran formula. The samples were chosen by stratified random sampling among the third grade female high school students and their teachers in Bandar Abbas. Tools of this study are Bar-On emotional intelligence test and Mathematics grade in the second semester of 2014-2015 academic years. Mathematic score was used as the students’ academic success index in Mathematics. The survey’s information was analyzed in two levels of descriptive and inferential statistics via SPSS software. Emotional Intelligence Relationship with Academic Achievement

This study is about the investigation of Form One Islamic High School students emotional intelligence at Hulu Terengganu district in Malaysia. 364 Form One students was selected from 4 Islamic high school in the district to answer the questionaires. The data of frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation was run and analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS version 20.0). Research outcome showed that the students’ emotional intelligence level is in the medium range, which interpersonal skill is the most dominant domain among the students. Its shows have a relationship between the emotional intelligence and the students’ academic achievement through the Pearson correlation analysis. But the relationship is not significant.

Emotional aspects are very important in influencing the excellence of a student. Many past studies have proven that emotional intelligence affect academic achievement. Therefore, this study is aimed to identify students' emotional intelligence level and to what extent emotional intelligence influences students' academic achievement. A total of 406 people form 5 students from nine schools in Limbang District, Sarawak were involved in this study. Malaysia Intelligence Emotional Inventory - Teens (IKEM-R) was used to assess the level of students' emotional intelligence. Emotional Intelligence on Students’ Learning Achievement in High School of Makassar, Indonesia

The objectives of this research to describe level of students’ emotional intelligence, learning achievement’s, and the influence of emotional intelligence on student learning achievements. This type of quantitative research consists of two variables of emotional intelligence as the independent variable and learning achievements of physics learning achievements as dependent on the ex-post facto method. Proportional cluster random sampling is a data collection method used to collect 135, a questionnaire instrument with a Likert scale to collect emotional intelligence data and a documentation format used to collect Physics learning achievements. The data obtained were analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics. The conclusion of this study is that the emotional intelligence of students is in the moderate category with a presentation of 65% with a frequency of 88 students.

The aim of the quantitative correlational study was to investigate the association between students’ academic performance and emotional intelligence. In this study, 700 10th graders from 20 high schools in the district of Lahore were randomly selected. By administering the Bar-On (2002) “Emotional Quotient Inventory Short form,” students’ emotional intelligence was assessed, whereas their academic achievement was determined by their results on the ninth-grade final examinations. Techniques for inferential statistical data analysis were used, including Pearson r, the independent sample t-test, and linear regression.According to the study's findings, academic achievement and emotional intelligence are favorably associated. The objective of the study is to find out the significant impact of emotional intelligence on academic achievement of secondary school students on the basis of gender. Emotional Intelligence is treated as independent variable whereas academic achievement is taken as dependent variable. Descriptive survey was adopted in the present study. The sample consisted of secondary school students equally divided according to gender (Male &Female) which were randomly selected for conducting the study. For fulfilling the aim, a standardized and reliable Emotional Inventory Scale (EIS) developed by Dr Arun Kumar Singh &Dr ShrutiNarain was used to measure the level of emotional intelligence of adolescent’s students studying in secondary school and total percentage of end semester was obtained to assess the academic performance. To achieve the stated objective of the study the Mean and Standard Deviation for scores of different variables were used and further ‘t test’ and Pearson correlation was applied through SPSS to find out the significant impact of emotional intelligence on academic achievement of secondary school students. The analysis of data shows that there is no significant impact of emotional intelligence on academic achievement of boys but in girls it can be seen that emotional intelligence impacted academic achievement so boys may be courageous and neutral in managing their emotions as compared to girls are hypersensitive. The Effect of Emotional Intelligence Against Student Achievement aims to Determine the effect of emotional intelligence the which consists of self-awareness, self-management, Motivation, social awareness, relationship management partially and simultaneously on learning achievement. Respondents are students of SMP Negeri 4 Lalan Great Earth Village Banyuasin Regency to be 135 people. Methods of analysis of data using regression analysis techniques. Partial assay results (t-test) Showed emotional intelligence consists of self-awareness, self-management, Motivation, social awareness, relationship management and significant positive effect on learning achievement. Simultaneous Test Results (Test-F) emotional intelligence consists of self-awareness, self-management, motivation, social awareness, relationship management and significant positive effect on learning achievement. Social awareness is the more dominant influence on learning achievement.

Relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Educational Achievement

Problem Statement: Achievement encompasses student ability and performance, it as the quality and quantity of a student's work, is multidimensional and strongly related to human cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development. In the beginning, psychologists focused on cognitive constructs but, researchers recognized that there are other non-cognitive aspects of intelligence such as emotional intelligence. In this study we want to see whether there is a relationship between emotional intelligence and academic achievement or not? Purpose of Study: The research purpose is to look into the relationship between emotional intelligence and academic achievement. we want to know whether we should incorporate emotional intelligence in school programs. Research Methods: In a correlation study, a sample of 100 individuals was selected using the opportunity or convenience sampling among the students of Islamic Azad University, Tehran South branch and were tested with emotional intelligence questionnaires (Bradberry & Greaves, 2003). Findings: Results indicated that there's no significant association between emotional intelligence and the students' end-of-the-term and diploma degrees. Conclusions: In our research no significant relation was found between emotional intelligence (self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management) and academic achievement. Moreover, the strong relationship between diploma and university degrees was observed that indicates that academic success is significantly correlated to IQ and can be a reliable predictor of educational achievement. Our findings here do not prove any significant association between emotional intelligence and diploma and university degree and we conclude that it can't be a reliable predictor of educational achievement.

The Impact of Emotional Intelligence on Student’s Academic Performance

Emotional intelligence combines the important aspects of interpersonal and intrapersonal relationships, adaptability, moods and stress management skills, which have an effect on students' academic performance. Thus, this study was carried out with the aim of examining the impact of emotional intelligence on students' academic performance of information technology and business management students. The independent variable includes self-awareness, self-motivation, empathy, emotional management and interpersonal skills while the depended variable is academic performance. This research adopted descriptive and explanatory research design. It also employ the use of cross sectional survey method using a survey questionnaires that contains 40 items with Likert Scale (Disagree-1 and 5 for Agree). The sample of 123 students from FTMS College, Cyberjaya and Erican College were selected using convenient sampling. The data collected was analyzed using descriptive means and regression via SPSS19. The Pearson's correlation coefficients of the five dependent variables have significant positive correlation with students' academic performance. However, using the regress analysis only two variable were significant and they include; empathy and self-motivation. Hence, the study concluded that only the independent variable of empathy and motivation has a strong influence on academic performance of
