Abstract

This paper presents a procedure suitable to design an ANFIS automatic voltage regulator of a synchronous generator. Several aspects related to the design of this intelligent AVR are explored and compared, in order to determine the best procedure to perform the design. The performance of the AVR is tested and compared to the one of conventional AVRS at the 9-bus 3-machine IEEE test power system, showing an important improvement of the system dynamic response.
