HIGH-SCHOOL CHEMISTRY TEACHERS' UNDERSTANDING OF HIGHER ORDER THINKING SKILLS AND ITS IMPLEMENTATION Abstract Teachers play an essential role in attempts to develop students' higher-order thinking skills through the implementation of classroom assessments. This study explores chemistry teachers' understanding of higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) assessments, how they implement the assessments, and what obstacles they face. This study employed a qualitative approach that involved 12 high-school chemistry teachers in South Jakarta. Data collection was conducted in August and September 2019 through semi-structured interviews. The findings of this study show that the chemistry teachers have a different understanding of higher-order thinking assessments. Perspektif Guru Terhadap Kemahiran Berfikir Aras Tinggi dalam Kalangan Pelajar

Kajian ini dijalankan bagi meneroka perspektif guru berkaitan kemahiran berfikir aras tinggi (KBAT) dalam kalangan pelajar. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah temubual separa berstruktur yang melibatkan seorang guru yang berpengalaman. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam kajian ini terdiri daripada protocol temubual dan komputer riba. Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa KBAT dalam kalangan pelajar masih perlu diperkasakan dan dipengaruhi oleh perbezaan tahap sosioekonomi dan jenis sekolah. Faktor pelajar, alat bantu mengajar, dan keadaan bilik darjah didapati mempengaruhi pemilihan strategi pengajaran bagi memupuk KBAT dalam kalangan pelajar. Hasil kajian turut mendapati bahawa teknik menyoal boleh digunakan bagi meningkatkan KBAT dalam kalangan pelajar, manakala pemberian soalan KBAT secara konsisten, penggunaan kaedah pembelajaran abad ke-21 (PAK21) dan pemberian tugasan berkumpulan boleh digunakan untuk menggalakkan aplikasi KBAT ketika pelajar menghadapi penilaian. This study aimed to learn the knowledge, attitude and problems of Malay Language teachers on the implementation of higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) in teaching and learning (T&L) literature component (KOMSAS) in secondary schools.The study was conducted because there are Malay Language teachers who have a low mastery of the syllabus and content of KOMSAS. Respondents of this study consisted of 108 Malay Language teachers in secondary schools that teach in Timur Laut district, Penang. The design of this study is a study that uses descriptive analysis. High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in teaching and learning at school is a new regulation in education of Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to know Elementary thematic teachers in Semarang district perception to the higher order thinking skills in punctuation learning. Questionnaire and interview are used as data collection technique. Data analysis was taken by qualitative and quantitative by percentage. The result of the research shows 79% teachers give response sometimes they make learning punctuation preparation, 61% they seldom doing spelling learning, 57% they integrated higher order thinking skills in punctuation learning, and 51% they usually measure higher order thinking skills in punctuation learning evaluation. Hambatan Mahasiswa Calon Guru Matematika Dalam Menyelesaikan Masalah Bermuatan Higher-Order Thinking Skills

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi hambatan mahasiswa calon guru matematika dalam menyelesaikan masalah bermuatan HOTS dan faktor penyebabnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Pengumpulan data adalah tes yang digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi hambatan belajar. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah pelaksana penelitian sebagai instrumen utama, instrument soal HOTS, kuisioner terbukaterkait hambatan belajar. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 118 orang mahasiswa Pendidikan Matematika Semester ganjil dengan perwakilan tiap 1 kelas pada semester 1,3,5, dan 7 pada salah satu Universitas Muhammadiyah di Jakarta Timur yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat tiga tipe hambatan belajar mahasiswa calon guru dalam menyelesaikan masalah bermuatan HOTS diantaranya (1) tipe 1 terkait konsep-konsep materi persamaan 4 variabel dan bilangan asli pada indikator kemampuan dalam menganalisis (C4) dan kreasi (C6); (2) tipe 2 terkait prosedur penyelesaian soal operasi aljabar, akar dan pecahan dalam bentuk irrasional pada indikator menganalisis (C4), Menilai (C5) dan kreasi (C6); (3) tipe 3 terkait hubungan materi matematika dengan konsep matematika yang lain yaitu geometri dengan trigonometri dan geometri dengan lingkaran pada indikator kemampuan dalam menilai (C5) dan kreasi (C6); Faktor yang menyebabkan mahasiswa calon guru matematika masih lemah dalam menyelesaikan masalah bermuatan HOTS adalah ketidakbiasaan mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah soal HOTS dan ketidakberkembangnya kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah.
