The Business of International Enterprise

Internacjonalizacja przedsiębiorstw. Uwarunkowania – procesy – wyniki badań, 2016

this article aims at theorizing about a business of international enterprise. With the vanishing frontiers of entities like enterprises, each and every enterprise is international by default. With the use of intellectual modelling (reflexivity), the article develops propositions and conclusions. It is claimed that enterprise is nudged to concentrate its activities on administrative issues and that successful enterprises focus on core activities refusing administrative ones. There further comes the idea of the spaces of core activities (business, money, competencies, markets and future), followed by the issue of three simple questions (what, why and how) used for each of the spaces. It is concluded that if the business of an international enterprise is nothing but business, its strategy can be built with 75 answers to simple questions.

Premises and Characteristics of "Contemporary Business" – the Context of Globalization, Internationalization and Threats

2020

In the course of previous comprehensive theoretical, methodological and empirical research of the authors, the main purpose of which was to identify ways of internationalization of Polish and Ukrainian enterprises. It was noted that a new model of business functioning is emerging, significantly different from the traditional model, in which the phenomenon of globalization underlies the process of internationalization of economic activity. At the same time, it should be borne in mind that the problem of studying specific practices of interaction between business structures in Poland and Ukraine, paradoxically, as a whole, is given insufficient attention (both in Polish and Ukrainian economic science). This served as the inspiration for writing this study, the main goal of which is to identify the features of the modern business model on the background of identifying the differences between the traditional and the current model in the context of existing threats and to find out the ma...

GLOBAL ECONOMY AND INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS. A THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK FOR THE ACTIVITY OF MULTINATIONAL CORPORATIONS

geografie.uvt.ro

The exterior political, social and economical environment has a major impact on the functionality and reliability of an international company, starting with the ideas and axiological frame which circumscribes the decisional activity of organization leaders, continuing with the coherency and internal synergy and ending with the flux of the personnel, influenced in a great extent by work conditions, concurrence and the prestige of the corporation in a competitive environment. This paper proposes a analysis of the main economical theories and their influence upon the competitive international environment in the contemporary period, focusing broadly on multinational corporations, market-state relation in the globalization era, Marxism, neo-Marxism, or liberal economy. Towards the end of the article, realism, idealism, constructivism and behaviorism, the most important theories of international relations, are assessed based on their main principles as a possible developmental frame for international companies.

International Development of German Enterprises on the example of the Wielkopolska Region

Entrepreneurial Business and Economics Review

The aim of the research is to understand how German enterprises are developingtheir activities and sales in the Wielkopolska region in Poland, in particular to investigate how they perform in terms of sales volume, what the drivers of their growth on the foreign market are, what constitutes the Wielkopolska region, and what the barriers to their growth are. Research Design & Methods: The qualitative research method, in particular the multiple case study approach. The research covers 12 firms and was conducted using the direct interview method. Findings: We found that German firms functioning in Wielkopolska have extraordinary growth rates, over 20% per year, substantially higher than those achieved in Germany, that they did not follow the classical Uppsala model of internationalisation, and that their main sources of growth are their high quality, employees, and innovativeness in combination with the fast growing market of a less developed economy. Implications & Recommendations: The study suggests that in order to reduce or eradicate the barriers to growth of German firms in Wielkopolska, the appropriate authorities should care more about the higher stability and good enforcement of the law and political stability in Poland's eastern neighbour-Ukraine. Contribution & Value Added: The research contributes to the development of knowledge on the functioning of German firms' growths rates in Wielkopolska and factors enhancing and impeding their growth on the practical and theoretical level. "The businessman whose master plan controls the world each day" Multinational enterprises and their actor images in IR Bitte nicht ohne Erlaubnis zitieren -Für Kommentare & Anregungen ist der Autor dankbar!

2020

Abstract: While International Relations has for a long time been informed by state-centric approaches, processes of globalization, the emergence of transnational actors, and their increased cross-border activities have contributed to a disciplinary opening in terms of which actors are considered to be important. Especially multinational enterprises ("MNEs"), according to transnational private authority research, become integrated and thus more involved in political processes of global governance. For a discipline which rests on the dichotomy between public and private, such a development poses far-reaching challenges in terms of how to study its phenomena. By arguing that actor images are expressions of underlying ontological and epistemological assumptions, the paper focuses on how MNEs were and are integrated into IR as a research object. Reconstruction of how research on MNEs was and is conducted shows that, despite being constitutive for any normative assessment, actor...
