Moringa oleifera which widely used as vegetable in various part of world, is considered good not only in terms of taste but in health also as it contains eight essential Amino acids and eighteen other amino acids required for the normal growth and development. Its antibacterial properties can protect us against various infections. Anaemia is a widely prevalent health problem among adolescent girls which is defined as low level of haemoglobin in the blood, mainly due to the iron deficiency. The study has been planned to highlight the impact of administration of Moringa oleifera leaves in malnourished adolescent girls and the socio demographic factors related to anaemia during 2020-21 in village Sultanpur of Harda district. Moringa leaf powder 20 g was incorporated in the daily diet of anaemic adolescent girls for the period of three months. A biochemical test (haemoglobin level) was done after the intervention. The positive impact of Moringa was found after intervention that the average Hb level was increased from 10.8 mg/dl to 11.9 g/dl which shows 1.1% enhancement in Hb and BMI was also increased from 17.7 to 18.3.
Modisco With Moringa Leaf for Improving Childhood’s Nutritional Status

Child growth is recognized as an important indicator of nutritional and health status. But in fact, there are still some cases of undernutrition in some areas of Jember. This is certainly a challenge for health providers because the lack of nutrients that occur in this golden period is irreversible. This research aims to analyze the effects of modisco with moringa leaf for improving the childhood's nutritional status. It was a quantitative research and conducted by using quasiexperimental study. This research used pre-post tests design for experiment and control groups. Data from 40 children (20 from modisco group and 20 from the control group) were analyzed by using paired t-test and simple logistic regression. After one week of treatment, the mean of child weight significantly increased in intervention groups (mean gain weight 0.57 kilogram, p = 0.000), whereas the weight score remained unchanged in the control group (mean gain weight 0.05 kilogram, p = 0.066). The result also showed that there was a significant positive effect of the modisco with moringa leaf for increasing child's body weight (p= 0.026, Exp.B=56,6). It was indicated that the children who were given modisco with moringa leaf for 7 days, potentially had 56,6 times greater for increasing their weight than those who were not given. It could be conduded that the consumption of Modisco with moringa leaf had a beneficial effect to improve the childhood's nutritional status
Development of Millet Based Moringa -Amla Snack Bar for Iron Deficiency in Adolescents

Iron intake is crucial for promoting adolescent health as their growth needs deplete the body's iron stores. However, junk eating by adolescents leads to inadequate dietary intake. Research studies have shown that incorporating low-cost, non-heme iron-rich moringa leaves into food products, may help meet daily iron needs. Although moringa leaves are a part of everyday diet in South Indian households, underuse is also observed. Aim: To develop a millet-based snack bar, incorporated with dried moringa leaf flour and Amla powder. Methods: Moringa Leaves were procured from local farm. Snack Bar was prepared using Moringa Flour at different concentrations (20%,40% and 60%) and standardized by mixing it with groundnut flour, toasted sesame seeds, Ragi and Kambu millets, dried amla powder ghee, and Jaggery. The sensory evaluation was done using 30 semi trained panel members on a 5 point hedonic rating scale and the accepted product was nutritionally analyzed. Results: The Moringa Amla Millet Bar with a 20% incorporation showed better overall acceptability, when compared to Moringa Amla Millet Bar with 40% and 60% variations. There was a significant difference at 1% level among 20%, 40%, and 60% variations. The 20% level incorporation had a high product acceptability index of 88% compared to the 40% and 60% levels. The nutrient analysis of the accepted indicated that the following values per 100gm. 57.5mg of Iron,11.8 mg of vitamin C, 12.1g of Fiber, 12.2 mg of Protein, 345mg of calcium , 19.4mg of Zinc, and provides a substantial energy source of Kcal. Conclusion: The nutritious Moringa leaves with surplus health benefits shall be well utilized by incorporating it in various nutritious recipe preparation that may serve as iron supplements for growing adolescents.

In adolescents, the iron not only functions as energy metabolism in the body but also helps to improve learning achievement. Iron deficiency can lead to fatigue, and the concentration, memory and learning abilities can be disrupted. It can also lead to anemia, especially in young women. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of leaf moringa capsules on the hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls in Sabbihisma Junior High School. This research used a quasi method of pretest and posttest experiment with control group design. The sample of the study were 32 people, 16 cases (moringa leaf capsule) and 16 control groups. Data collection was done through observation and laboratory examination of hemoglobin levels before and after treatment. The data were tested with paired sample t-test. The results showed that there was a significant difference in female hemoglobin levels in the case group with p = 0,000, while the control group was not significant with p = 0,091.

Background: In 2020, the percentage of underweight children under five in Indonesia is relatively high, which is 6.7% or a total of 779,139 children under five. Wonokerto Village is the village with the highest number of underweight children under five in Turi District. This shows that the problem of under-five malnutrition is still high both in Indonesia and in the regions, even though toddlers are a golden age where the growth process occurs very rapidly and cannot be repeated. Under five children are an age group of vulnerable where they are still vulnerable to a wide range of health and nutritional disorders because they are still in growth and development period. The decrease in prevalence of wasting in Indonesia is still not in accordance with national medium term development plan (RPJMN) target. One of the efforts that can be done to improve the nutritional status of under five children are through the provision of supplementary feeding to the program Posyandu. In general, this research aims to develop suplementary food based on local foods that have been fortified with moringa leaves. The spesific purpose in this study was: 1) To formulation of traditional cakes that were fortified with moringa oleifera leaves; 2) To analize the preferences level of traditional cakes that are fortified with moringa oleifera leaves; 3) To analize nutrient content of traditional cake fortified with moringa oleifera leaves. The research method is experiment with complete random design. The results showed that the supplementary food from traditional cakes that are fortified with moringa oleifera leaf powder and fresh moringa oleifera leaves have a higher nutrient content in comparison with cakes that are not fortified. Analysis of the hedonic levels and the respondent's receiving of additional food in the Moringa oleifera leaves indicates that the most preferred cake is that given the addition of the leaves powder to 5%.

Background and objectives: Malnutrition associated with anemia remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality among Adivasi children in India. The present trial aimed to test three possible ways of designing improved supplementary meals and to define their role in decreasing rates of anemia, thus increasing hemoglobin (Hb) concentrations as primary health objective: diversified meals only (intervention group 1 (IG 1)), with the addition of locally producible Amaranthus tricolor/Moringa oleifera leaf powders (ALP/MLP) in the ratio 2:1 (IG2) or with an adjusted amount of commercially produced micronutrient powder TopNutri (IG3). Methods: Cluster-randomization of 21 villages resulted in the inclusion of n=293 children aged 6-39 months after baseline assessment.
