A Robust and Deterministic Digital Watermarking Technique Based on Cosine Transform

With the widen use of internet, digital media are widely used. Digital media are easily and illegally destroyed, copied and change. So there is a need of transmitting the data securely and confidentially and for this we need an effective data hiding scheme. This is where watermarking system comes in existence. Digital Watermarking is the technique which allows an owner to add hidden copyright notices, image, and signature, audio, video or other messages to digital media. This article deals with developing the watermarking scheme for digital images. Here we deal with invisible watermarking. In this thesis work we mainly focus on better image quality and to retain the integrity of the watermark after being embedding into the original image and reduce perceptual degradation. Here we can increase robustness against attacks by pre-processing the image using techniques of interpolation and histogram equalization. Performance of the original image and watermarked image has been analyses by evaluating the PSNR to check how perfectly and deeply watermark is embedded in watermarked image.

Robust Digital Invisible Watermarking for Copyright Protection of Image using DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform

Digital watermarking is an important issue for the copyright protection and ownership authentication in multimedia applications. We implement the watermarking algorithm using frequency domain technique by using DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform) on images. Here, the invisible watermarking is used to protect copyrights of multimedia contents. The invisible watermarks are new technologies which could solve the problem of enforcing the copyright protection is required for ownership identification as well as hidden information can also be identified. Where, the watermark is invisible to the human eye. Also, the authenticity of the information in the image can be obtained by comparing the watermarked image with the original image.

Design Implementation and Analysis of Image Watermark System using selected Discrete Cosine Transform

The Journal of Applied Sciences Research, 2015

In recent days the computer communication and the usage of multimedia data is enormous over the Internet, that may be easily copied & distributed from one to another. So protection of these data is very important. A robust watermarking embedding system must be developed with high PSNR Values. In this paper, a watermarking system using DCT transformation technique with image padding and selector is proposed. The results assure that the proposed algorithm gives high PSNR value and least MSE value.

An Improved Scheme for Digital Watermarking Based On Discrete Cosine Transformations

2010

Digital Watermarking is a technology of embedding watermark with intellectual property rights into images, videos, audios and other multimedia data by a certain algorithm. The basic characteristics of digital watermark are imperceptible, security, reliability, low complexity of watermarking algorithm and security of the hiding place. Digital Watermarking Algorithm is composed of three parts: watermark embedding algorithm, the watermark extraction algorithm and the watermark detection algorithm. Future research of digital watermarking technology will focus on the watermarking algorithm, the study of watermarking theories, the watermark attacks and the evaluation system of watermarking system. A robust digital watermarking approach is proposed using the modified discrete cosine transformation (MDCT). The quality of the watermarked image is high and is robust to compression, noises, filtering and geometric transformations.

Multiple Image Watermarking with Discrete Cosine Transform

Journal of Computer and Communications, 2021

Multiple image watermarking is an advanced concept of singular watermarking techniques. The existing singular digital image watermarking techniques cannot obtain all the design goals, such as imperceptibility, robustness, security, and capacity simultaneously with perfection. Hence, the multiple image watermarking technique is designed that embeds several watermarks into the same host image for conveying multiple information. This paper proposed a multiple image watermarking technique with Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) for ensuring the low computational time for embedding, encryption, decryption as well as extraction of the watermark images. Here, DCT is used to ensure the visual quality of the host image, and a random binary matrix is used to improve the security of the digital image. We have given a basic framework for multiple image watermarking. Our experimental results show satisfactory performance.

Blind watermarking technique for grey scale image using block level Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT).pdf

This paper presents a robust watermarking technique to copyright an image. Proposed technique is totally based on DCT and is different from most of the available techniques. We are embedding blockwise watermark against the noise, filtering and cropping attack. Before embedding the watermark for any host image we must calculate the gain factor. According to our approach gain factor will vary for two different host images . The experimental results show that in addition the invisibility and security, the scheme is also robust against signal processing.

Enactment and Performance Analysis of Discrete Transform based Watermarking Algorithms for Digitized Images.

International Journal of Engineering Sciences & Research Technology, 2013

A digital watermark is a kind of marker covertly embedded in a noise-tolerant signal such as audio or image data. It is typically used to identify ownership of the copyright of such signal. "Watermarking" is the process of hiding digital information in a carrier signal; the hidden information should, but does not need to contain a relation to the carrier signal. Digital watermarks may be used to verify the authenticity or integrity of the carrier signal or to show the identity of its owners. It is prominently used for tracing copyright Digital image watermarking technology protects digital content (text, images, audio, and video) from illegal manipulations. In this paper we proposed implementation and performance analysis of two different watermarking schemes based on DCT-DWT-SVD. Both are non-blind techniques. One is based on SVD of DC coefficients using second level DWT decomposition and other is SVD of all DCT values of second level DWT composition of cover image. PSNR and NCC parameters are used to check effectiveness of both techniques for Imperceptibility and robustness.

Digital Watermarking Based on DWT (Discrete Wavelet Transform) and DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform)

International Journal of Engineering & Technology, 2019

Digital watermarking is a technique to secure privacy of digital information and it’s an important research area. There is a high risk in piracy with technology developments. Therefore, digital watermarking methods are necessary to solve the problem of content authentication and copyright protection. Digital data is available such as images and videos. The increased value of digital content makes new challenges to secure the digital media. Several digital watermarking methods are actually proposed in special domain and transforms domain. Spatial domain methods still have relatively low-bit capacity. Frequency domain-based methods are more robust and can embed more bits for watermark. watermarking in the frequency domain includes: Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) and Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT). In this work, digital watermarking method for embedding and extraction copyright protection based on DWT and DCT is proposed. The two methods taking benefit from the advantages of both techniques and make one hybrid method. The combined method is applied on two-dimensional images (original cover image and watermark image). This watermarking method provides good performance and strong robustness.
