İş Sağlığı ve Güvenliği Denetimi: Türkiye ve İngiltere Örneklerinin Karşılaştırmalı İncelenmesi (original) (raw)
This study aims to examine the critically important concept of "inspection" in the context of Occupational Health and Safety with an analysis of the UK and Turkey empirical examples specifically in a comparative approach and historical perspective. With the advance of technology Occupational Health and Safety has become increasingly significant in developing countries just as well as it has in developed countries. The main aim of the Occupational Health and Safety studies are to protect the employees from work-related accidents and occupational diseases, to ensure peaceful labour conditions and prosperity, to increase efficiency and output by providing safety of production. In this respect one of the main duties of the goverments are the inspection factor. Inspection is the principal and most powerful potency in the hands of goverments since corruption-prone systems can only preserve their form without deterioration with the control that inspection provides. Based on these features, this study provides a comparative analysis of the United Kingdom with its extensive legal regulations with the capacity to set an exemplary precedent for legislation for other states and Turkey on the other hand which has a unique legislative system in place. As a Portuguese proverb says "If you walk away after giving the orders, the work will not be done."
