Emerald — European Medical Radiation Learning Development — for Vocational Training and Interactive Learning on World Wide Web — Nuclear Medicine Training Module (original) (raw)
Radioactive Isotopes in Clinical Medicine and Research XXIII, 1999
Abstract
EMERALD is an EC-funded Leonardo da Vinci pilot project in which three common transnational vocational training modules in Medical Radiation Physics are developed; Physics in Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy. They will be delivered for training of graduate and postgraduate students. Each module, following a syllabus and a workbook for students, will last about four months. It incorporates material for interactive computerbased learning and distance learning on CD-ROMs, as well as a database of technical and physical images (i.e. equipment, phantom images, simulated images, artefacts, etc.). An extension of the EMERALD project considers the design of an electronic course and conversion to network-based material on interactive WWW-pages for on-line initial vocational training (IVT) and continuing vocational training (CVT) in “life long learning and training”.
