Background: There are numerous reports regarding increasing childhood and adolescent mental health problems. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of psychiatric disorders in Hamadan Province, west of Iran from July 2016 to May 2017. Study design: A cross-sectional study. Methods: The sample included 1025 Hamadan residents selected using multistage cluster sampling. Psychiatric disorders were assessed by semi-structured psychiatric interview Kiddie-Sads-Present and Lifetime Version (K-SADS-PL). The data were analyzed using the SPSS software. We used the multivariable logistic regression to predict the Odds Ratios (ORs). Results: The prevalence of total psychiatric disorder was 8.6%. Psychiatric disorders in boys were higher than girls (12.6% and 4.9%, respectively). The psychiatric disorders were most prevalent in 6-9 yr old age group (11%). Objectives: The current cross-sectional study aimed to investigate the prevalence of psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents in the Hormozgan province in Iran. Methods: 1005 children and adolescents aged 6 to 18 years who were living in Hormozgan province participated in this community-based study. Participants were selected using the stratified random cluster sampling and were instructed to fill the Persian version of Kiddie-Sads-Present and Lifetime Version (K-SADS-PL). Demographic data were also collected (i.e., gender, age, education, parents’ education, and socioeconomic status). Background: Psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents cause numerous issues in adulthood. Epidemiological data could provide a broad understanding of such issues. However, data are scarce regarding the prevalence of these disorders in Iran. The present study aimed to provide detailed evidence on the prevalence of psychiatric disorders among children and adolescents aged 6-18 years in Zanjan province, Iran during November-February 2016. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 1,039 children and adolescents were selected via multistage cluster random sampling. Data were collected by face-to-face household surveys using the Persian version of kiddie schedule for affective disorders and schizophrenia-present and lifetime version. Results: The overall prevalence of mental disorders in the children and adolescents in Zanjan was 10.6%. Enuresis (4.8%) was the most common psychiatric issue, followed by anxiety disorders (4.5%), behavioral disorders (3.8%), and neurodevelopmental disorders (1.5%), while mood disorders (0.4%) had the lowest prevalence. Moreover, the children in the rural areas were 1.73 times more likely to develop psychiatric disorders compared to their urban peers. Conclusion: According to the results, approximately 18% of the children and adolescents in Zanjan had at least one psychiatric disorder. Our findings could lay the basis for further research and preventive/therapeutic interventions in this regard.

Objective: Considering the impact of rapid sociocultural, political, and economical changes on societies and families, population-based surveys of mental disorders in different communities are needed to describe the magnitude of mental health problems and their disabling effects at the individual, familial, and societal levels. Method: A population-based cross sectional survey (IRCAP project) of 30 532 children and adolescents between 6 and 18 years was conducted in all provinces of Iran using a multistage cluster sampling method. Background: This study is part of the national survey of the epidemiology of psychiatric disorders in Iranian children and adolescents (IRCAP), aiming to survey the prevalence of child and adolescent psychiatric disorders in Kermanshah and its outskirts. Objectives: This study aimed to assess the child and adolescent mental health status in the Kermanshah Province of Iran. Methods: A representative randomized sample of 993 urban and rural children aged 6 to 18 (349 aged 6 - 9 years, 333 aged 10 - 14 years, and 311 aged 15 - 18 years) participated in a cross-sectional study to be screened for psychiatric disorders using the Persian version of K-SADS-PL. The main goal of this study is to determine prevalence of mental disorders among individuals at the age of 15-65 years in Ardabil province, Iran. Statistical population of current study is comprised of individuals at 1565 years of age in the urban districts of Ardabil province. In current study the sample size of 1430 individuals who were inhabitant in urban districts of Ardabil province were selected through multistage cluster random sampling. The selected method in this study is survey research type and research design is cross sectional. Used tools in this study are; personal data questionnaire and 28 items GHQ test. This survey was conducted to investigate the prevalence of various psychiatric disorders among children and adolescents aged 6-18 years in urban areas of Tehran. In the study, which was done with random sampling method, 2095 children and adolescents in the range seniors aged 6-18 years, have been studied and based on Persian version of K-SADS-PL, we reviewed the psychiatric disorders related to them. The overall prevalence of psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents was 28.2%. The most commonly diagnosed disorders were anxiety disorders (21.9%), followed by behavioral disorders (9.6%). According to the results, 28.2% of the children and adolescents in Tehran province had psychiatric disorders, that is with increasing rate, compared with similar studies. Therefore, as a public health policy, the necessary tools for identifying, preventing and treating psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents should be considered in Tehran.

Background: Although the population growth in Bushehr Province is high, only few studies have been conducted on the prevalence of mental disorders among children and adolescents. This article aims to investigate the prevalence of psychiatric disorders among children and adolescents in Bushehr province that has second population growth in Iran.Methods: This was a cross-sectional study in which the eligible subjects were 6-18 years old children and adolescents selected using the stratified random cluster sampling from rural and urban areas of Bushehr. Prevalence of Psychiatric Disorders amongst Adolescents in Tehran

The aim of the present study was to determine the prevalence of different psychiatric disorders among 12 to 17 years old adolescents in urban areas of Tehran. Method: In this study, 1105 adolescents (12-17 years old) were selected from 250 clusters of the entire 22 municipality areas of Tehran using a multistage sampling method. After responding to the Farsi version of the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire self-report version, the Farsi version of the Kiddie Schedule for Affective Disorders and Schizophrenia-Present and Lifetime version (K-SADS-PL) was administered to 273 adolescents and their families. The prevalence of adolescent psychiatric disorders was determined using the results of K-SADS-PL. Results: There were not any statistically significant differences between the sexes in the frequency of psychiatric disorders except for ADHD which was observed more frequently in boys. The most prevalent psychiatric disorders were attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiant disorder, depressive disorders and separation anxiety disorder. Conclusion: The frequency of psychiatric disorders among the adolescents in Tehran's urban areas was comparable to the reports from other countries. However, using methods to deal with missing data makes these prevalence rates somehow higher.

10.30699/jambs.30.141.365 Background & Objective: Given the growing rate of psychiatric disorders, especially in young populations, detailed data on frequency of these disorders for further national public health strategiesis of great importance.We aimed to survey the frequency of different psychiatric disorders among children and adolescents in Kohgiloyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province. Materials & Methods: 20.5% (205 out of 1001) of studied cases showed at least one psychiatric disorder and 79.5 % showed no sign of any disorders. Anxiety disorders were the most frequent disorders (15.5%) followed by the behavioral disorders (7%), smoking and drug abuse (6%), behavioral disorders (2.4%) and neurodevelopmental disorders (2%), but no case was observed with psychosis. Results: Our study indicated that pretreatment of rats with KET, HAL and YOH abolished MPH induced-mood and motor activity disturbances. Conclusion: in comparison with other studies from Iran or other countries the prevalence of psychiatric disorders in Kohgiloyeh and Boyer-Ahmad is relatively high and special policies and efforts are suggested for enhancement of mental health values in this region.
