Abstract
Introduction: Numerous psychophysical problems caused by multiple sclerosis (MS) decrease quality of life and individual and social performance. Finding solutions to these problems and investigating them using reliable tools are crucial. This study aimed at translating and validating a Persian version of the Coping with Health Injuries and Problems (CHIP) scale in patients with MS.Materials and Methods: The CHIP questionnaire was completed by 206 patients with MS presenting to neurology clinics in Isfahan, Iran. Exploratory factor analysis, face and content validity and reliability were used to identify the factors in this population.Results: With an acceptable Cronbach’s alpha of 0.69, the CHIP scale can be used to identify solutions to the problems of Iranian patients with MS and determine their treatment plan.
