The Covid-19 pandemic, which has hit almost all parts of the world, has made many changes in social order. No exception, Indonesia is also one of the countries affected by the Covid-19 outbreak. The new government policy regarding the prevention of the Covid-19 outbreak has hampered almost all social activities. One of them is da'wah activities. The existence of the PSBB and WFH policies makes preachers have to find new da'wah strategies and methods so that da'wah can be carried out in the midst of new policies from the government. During the COVID-19 pandemic, many media outlets have faced disruption. These disruptions are not only related to health but also to public life and the media industry as a whole. During the COVID-19 pandemic, people made the media the main source of information. The purpose of this research is to find out the transformation of media journalism during COVID-19 in Indonesia. This research uses social information processing theory, which describes how a person develops computer-mediated interpersonal and group communication (online) without non-verbal cues, as well as making it easier and more convenient. The research method uses qualitative methodology with a case study approach. In the atmosphere of the COVID-19 pandemic, where people are traumatized by the rapid and ubiquitous transmission of COVID-19 and social restrictions, communication using computers and smartphones mediated online is one of the right solutions. COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the convergence of control over not only technology but other skills in the news process. The conclusion of this research is that the production process of television journalism has changed.

Presently COVID-19 affects the world people’s lifestyle and health. Most of the people are isolated from their family, friends and relatives. And they follow social distance procedure to protect themselves from the diseases. Due to the pandemic entire world move from in person conversation to web-based communication. So, during this period media spread more information regarding COVID-19 issues. Ultimate purpose of this study is to identify the informative role of media during this pandemic period. Data was collected through the questionnaire and quantitative study conducted to finalize the variables. The Role of Media in the COVID-19 Pandemic Period in terms of Effective Health Care Management

Aim: In this study, it was aimed to handle the role of the media from a sociological point of view focusing on the management of the coronavirus pandemic and the crisis caused by this pandemic, with an effective health management. Material and Methods: In this study, the qualitative method has been adopted, and online ethnography and visual document analysis techniques have been used. For this purpose, visual and written materials, and mottos were examined in cyberspace and in conventional media. Results: Media has a significant role in managing health care effectively during the pandemic since it has the instruments to influence individuals and public. However, both conventional and new media ignores the social and economic disparities but underlines the personal dimension instead by creating an infodemic situation and using the pandemic as a source of info-tainment in their representations regarding coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Conclusion: It is concluded that mass media has been a very frequently used tool for getting and sharing information since the very beginning of the pandemic. Therefore, it is clear that objective and correct information provided by the media is vital for an effective health care management during the pandemic. However, the manipulative facade of media is very vivid on especially the issues of ignoring inequalities, burdening the individual with the whole responsibility of his/her health behaviors, conveying conspiracy theories and leading to an infodemic.
Digital Literacy for Covid 19 Information in Indonesian Society

In the midst of the COVID19 pandemic situation, hoax news emerged that made people panic and make wrong decisions. The emergence of this hoax is because many people are not literate with information, so they trust all the information entered. People also do not have the social awareness to filter the information they get. This study aims to describe the level of literacy of the digital community towards COVID19 information measured on the internet. The research method used is a descriptive type with a survey method. The research location was in East Java, with a total of 500 respondents consisting of several segmentations of people who actively use the internet as a source of information. The results of this study indicate that the digital literacy level for COVID19 information is good with an average value of 3.69. The spread of the COVID-19 outbreak caused by the novel coronavirus across continents has also garnered Indonesian media attention from a variety of perspectives. As a national newspaper, KOMPAS has regularly reported on the coronavirus that has spread from Wuhan, China since January 2020. The aim of this paper is to investigate where the media places responsibility for COVID-19 in Indonesia. KOMPAS newspaper articles have been sampled from 12 January to 18 May 2020. Investigators collected 30 news samples between January and May of 2020. The news samples were then categorized into three big themes, namely (1) prevention strategies; (2) outbreak management; and (3) the communication strategy for further analysis using reality construction theory to determine how KOMPAS narrated the COVID-19 outbreak that happened in Indonesia. As preliminary findings, the role of the media is very crucial to oversee the government to make optimal efforts in the detection, monitoring and management of handling COVID-19. In addition, the media plays a major role in shaping public perceptions of the health risks of COVID-19. However, on the other hand, some people get fed up with news related COVID-19. This is because the viewpoint of writing presented in the media considered it haunting and put pressure on the public.

The use of media as political communication is indeed effective. Moreover, in this digital era, accessing information is carried out using existing media or new media. Because it is undeniable that people have switched to something instant and easy. Given these conditions, the media is very effective if used as a one-way propaganda tool to convey government political policy. By using The Bullet Theory, it is considered suitable to dissect how the media can become one-way propaganda in the delivery of policies related to the handling of Covid-19 by the Government of Indonesia. Communication and the masses have a strategic role in responding various problems that exist. In fact, communication and mass can be a form of early education that directly targets the wider community effectively and efficiently. The main discussion in this research is related to the important role of mass communication in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, as a form of prevention and early education to the public. The results of this study are, first, that communication and the masses have a central role in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. Second, that the problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic which has become a global problem have the potential to trigger a new social order or reconstruction, thus it is necessary to have close communication between stakeholders and the community in responding to this problem.

Corona virus were not considered as highly pathogenic for humans until the serious acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) outbreak in the Guangdong state of China in 2002 and 2003.The WHO confirmed the outbreak on 11 March 2020 a pandemic. As of 13 July 2020, over 13 million cases have been confirmed in more than 215 countries and territories. More than 5,71,000 have died from the disease.More than seven months after the emergence of COVID-19, scientists and government agencies are still trying to understand how this disease spreads.The information related to spread of disease, availability of treatment, public health practices and guidelines keep changing very frequently, leading to increased fear of uncertainty among general population. Accurate, well-developed information will help people to handle the uncertainties and fear during crisis. The role of mass media in bringing out empathizing and reliable information in times of ongoing pandemic becomes very crucial.The researchers have tried in this study to decide whether the media educate or misinform the public about the Covid-19 pandemic,The speed at which information spreads through the media is inconceivable and the findings of this study will help to understand whether the media are disseminating information or misinformation to the public on the outbreak of Covid-19.
