In this text, we present ideas about musical performances based on study processes resulting from creative propositions, the confluence of partial results of two ongoing researches, at master and doctorate level, of the Programa de Pos-Graduacao da Unversidade de Sao Paulo. It also considers results and reflections of a masters research already completed at the same university. The research regards proposals related to the cello, the instrument of both authors. The purpose of this paper is to present elements of the bibliographic review that serves as the foundation for the researchers, as well as considerations arising from empirical activities related to musical learning on the cello. The methodology utilised by the research is qualitative, based on Denzin (2000), Flick (2009) and Velardi (2018). Resumo: Trazemos a problemática do planejamento da performance em música de câmara a partir da experiência artística dos autores em duo de violões. Considerando o alto nível de performance de duos brasileiros i , trouxemos entrevistas-de projeto de pesquisa autoral-com os duos: Duo Assad, Duo Barbieri-Schneiter, Brasil Guitar Duo e Duo Siqueira Lima, buscando coletar demandas e estratégias de estudo para a performance camerística. Nosso objetivo foi oferecer estratégias de estudo para a performance musical camerística a partir de uma aproximação entre os dados das entrevistas e os pressupostos teóricos adotados sobre o planejamento da performance-Barros (2008), Davidson; King (2004), Gabrielson (1999), Goodman (2002) e Ray (2005). Concluímos que as estratégias trazem ganhos na efetividade dos ensaios, na compreensão das obras estudadas e na consolidação coletiva de uma interpretação musical desejada. Singularities in the preparation of chamber music performance: Strategies studies based on research with Brazilian guitar duos Abstract: We bring forward the discussion on the performance planning in chamber music from our artistic experience in guitar duo practices. Considering the high level of performance of Brazilian guitar duos, we conducted interviews-from the author's masters research project-with the duos: Duo Assad, Duo Barbieri-Schneiter, Brasil Guitar Duo and Duo Siqueira Lima, seeking to collect demands and study strategies in chamber music performance. Our goal was to offer study strategies in chamber music performance based on an approach between interview's data and theoretical assumptions about performance planning-Barros (2008), Davidson; King (2004), Gabrielson (1999), Goodman (2002) and Ray (2005). We conclude that the study strategies lead to improved effectiveness of the essays, knowledge of the studied works and in the collective strengthening of a desired musical interpretation.

[English below] Dado o caráter por demais restrito do que se entende por performance nos estudos musicais, este artigo propõe discutir as condições e os meios necessários para a integração dos elementos discursivos pertinentes para que a performance musical, com enfoque na música de concerto ocidental, possa reivindicar autonomia enquanto objeto de pesquisa. Para tanto, tomaremos os pressupostos da semiótica discursiva, incorporando discussões sobre intertextualidade e polifonia. Num primeiro momento, partiremos de um movimento de expansão, no qual se integram elementos intertextuais e contextuais à investigação. Em seguida, ao reconhecer o caráter discursivo/textual desses elementos, discutiremos sua composição sincrética. Isso nos levará à relação enunciador-enunciatário como eixo fundador em torno do qual se organizam os elementos performáticos pertinentes, criando assim um critério ao mesmo tempo constante, porém suficientemente aberto para abarcar as movências do ato performático enquanto objeto de estudo. The objective of this article is to identify the construction of common directionalities between the concepts of border and threshold within the semiotic theory of culture through Yuri Lotman and Claude Zilberberg. To address our research objective, we conducted a critical, convergent and synthetic review of the representative literature of both authors' proposals. This methodological purpose aims to make an integrated reading of the concepts of border and threshold so that they generate new frameworks and thematic perspectives on a semiotics of culture. The hypothesis is that the articulation of the threshold within the theory of a culture dependent on the topological, fundamental and narrative opposition between the center and the periphery, allows the portrayal of more versatile semiospheres where the peripheral figure falls apart in the most ubiquitous and temporarily unstable movements of particular cultures such as those economic or consumer semiospheres.
Considerações acerca da objetividade e do caráter fenomênico nos estudos da performance musical
Este trabalho propõe uma breve reflexão acerca das características dos estudos da performance musical: inicialmente reconhecendo que grande parte dos trabalhos que lidam com este assunto a mencionam de forma substantiva – enquanto objeto de estudo acabado e, consequentemente, repetível – o texto propõe também uma abordagem fenomênica e processual, considerando-a mais como ferramenta de estudo do que propriamente como objeto deste.

This article intends based on writings about cognitive psychology found in the book How the mind works by Steven Pinker, to argue about the development of the inner events, or mental activities connected to actions and emotions that control the instrumental practise. The interdisciplinar character of making music, implying to its realization in connecting with others knowledge‘s areas, imposes to instrument teacher the duty of to be constantly bringing up to date the knowledge referring to areas interfaced with instrumental performance. In this way, the music teacher as a conscious instructor that making music is linked a lot of others areas must to be informed about the psychosomatic process that control the human activities to apply this knowledge in music performance.
Expertise e motivação na performance musical
Resumo: Neste artigo, será apresentado o conceito de expertise, o desenvolvimento das gerações de teorias sobre expertise, fundamentado a partir de pesquisas na psicologia cognitiva, e a aplicação da expertise no contexto musical. Serão também discutidos os conceitos fundamentais relacionados ao desenvolvimento da expertise musical como: motivação para o estudo, motivação intrínseca e extrínseca e motivação parental. A partir dos referenciais teóricos de Frensch , será discutido os conceitos e o desenvolvimento da expertise na performance musical. Atualmente, o estudo sobre expertise é centrado em mecanismos e processos de aquisição e refinamento de habilidades e aprendizado, e o foco central da pesquisa em expertise é entender como um indivíduo atinge a excelência na performance musical. The paper presents the final findings of a research on the state of Knowledge in recent production (2007-2012) of theses and dissertations related to piano performance, defended in Music Graduate Programs in Brazil. Given the quantitative and qualitative growth evidenced in the scientific production in question, this paper aims to provide a critical discussion and analysis of its contents, inserting itself in a academic contents, characterized by an extensive discussion on the configuration of the research in music performance. The methodology is based on models of “state of knowledge” research as well as content analysis technique. This article provides an overview and analysis of key subjects, trends and methods of research. It presents emerging perspectives like Artistic Research and Empirical Musicology.
