The presentation deals around semiotic research of one of the best comedians from Latin American cinema Mario Fortino Alfonso Moreno Reyes (Mexico City, August 12, 1911-20 April 1993), known as Mario Moreno and Cantinflas; he was an actor, producer, screenwriter, and comedian of Mexican cinema. Who used to do comedy, disguised as "peladito" “a nobody,” or someone peeling ball, with hopes of succeeding? Like Charlie Chaplin, Cantinflas was a great social satirist. He played the role of "peladito" or "pelando bola". With mutual admiration, Cantinflas was influenced by Chaplin's early films as well as by his ideology. This research project has as its hypothesis: humor as a sociocultural discourse that mobilizes a symbolic load in the Latin American social imaginary and an essential element in the education of emotions and affections.
