The Basics and Significance of Industrial Robots in Manufacturing: A Review
Nigerian Journal of Engineering Science Research, 2021
The aim of the review is to present easily readable and understandable integrated basic information on industrial robots for ready availability and consultation by concerned students, researchers, manufacturers, careerists, and potential users who lack basic knowledge of the robots and need resources to better the knowledge. The review covers applications, advantages, challenges, structural components, types, and leading manufacturers of industrial robots. The review importantly shows that industrial robots are made in various types that can be exploited to reliably improve productivity, quality, safety, and flexibility in manufacturing processing which cannot be realized with the conventional fixed automation structure. The review also shows that industrial robots have far more advantages than disadvantages and they are increasingly used in many industries such as automotive, electrical and electronics, and metals and machinery to replace manual labor in typical manufacturing processes such as packaging and labeling, soldering, welding, painting and spraying, picking and placing, assembling, disassembling, inspection and testing, dispensing, palletizing, etc. One important finding from the review is that, usage extents of industrial robots in different industries and countries are highly correlated to industrial and national productivity output levels across the globe and there is remarkable difference in industrial productivities and economies of developing countries especially African countries where the robots are hardly used and their counterparts where the robots are used considerably in industries. The paper contributes to knowledge about industrial robots, as state-of-art automation structural systems that are crucial for manufacturing in any industry or economy that wants much greater advantages and global competitiveness in our today's era of complex industrial processing.
Industrial Robot Application Trend in World’s Metal Industry
Engineering Economics, 2012
Technological success implies technical solution improvement in automation domain of technological process and intelligent system application in different branches of industry, along with a metal industry. A huge number of robot applications exist today in metalworking industry. Their application is motivated with the technical and economical reasons like: quality improvement of the completed products (machine processing and other), fallout decrease (in the assembly process), rate enlargement of the homogeneity-constancy quality (in all process linked to robot application repeatability), security operation rate enlargement (in aggressive, burning, explosive and other areas, with the high rate of robot protection), decrease of necessary work force of routine and repeatability process, manufacture cost minimizing and overall maintenance, fulfilling of demands required by a competition and more rigorous quality standards. Besides the technical advantages, which is carried out owing to the robot application, it is necessary to emphasize that rationality of the robot application in particular operations is principally conditioned with the manufacturing volume and the operation character which the robot (or more robots) needs to carry out. This paper provides an analysis of the industrial robot applications in metal industry worldwide, with a detailed analysis according to years and manufacturing process. The analysis has been carried out on all four continents: Europe, Asia, America and Africa. The parallel analysis with the other industries has been given in addition to analysis of economic justification of robot application in manufacturing process. The results of this research show increasing robot application in metal industry and in other industries, which was a primary goal of this research. By using available data concerning installed robots worldwide, such as analyzing profitability and economic justification of robot implementation in manufacturing process, and as a result of this research, the trend of robot application in metal industry has increasing trend today.

Introduction The International Federation of Robotics (IFR) reported that globally, in 2018, the value of sales of robots increased to USD 16.5 billion, which corresponds to the use of 422,000 robots and an annual increase of 6%. In just 5 years, from 2013, the number of machines installed annually increased by as much as 135%. These values, despite the currently visible economic recession, are also to remain in 2019 and then increase until 2022 even at double-digit rate. At the same time, it should be noted that in 2018 as much as 74% of new robot applications were made in the industries of only five countries: China, Japan, South Korea, the USA and Germany. In this group, however, China's industry is by far the largest recipient of robots-in 2018, 154,000 were installed in it new machines, it is also the largest user in the world-it has completed as much as 36% of all global robotization installations in production processes. All this confirms the aforementioned thesis about the global importance of robotics and its place as currently the main tool for rationalizing production processes on a global scale [33, 46, 54]. In the last few year the density of robotization has been adopted as a modern indicator of just technical rationalization

Suitability analysis of using industrial robots in manufacturing
Proceedings of the Estonian Academy of Sciences, 2019
Manufacturing industry robotization is spreading into wider range of processes. Determination if robotization is suitable for the company is one of the most critical issues before selecting industrial robot and designing the robot cell. A survey was carried out among Estonian small and medium sized manufacturing enterprises (SMEs) for this study to determine the utilization of industrial robot (IR) in the industry. More specific study of production unit was conducted, using gathered information, to estimate how the objectives of the production cell design were achieved. The aim of the present scientific work is to map the knowledge whether robotization is suitable or not for the company or working processes and to appoint parameters obtained after using the robot cell for practical manufacturing processes. The study results comprise the suitability assessment method with the set of criteria and key performance indicators (KPIs), that best describe implemented production unit profitability and help SMEs to gain additional economic-technical information for future robot-based unit development.
Industrial Robot and Automation
This research paper focuses mainly on robotics and industrial level automation respect to the mathematical modelling and programming with simulation. Where the accuracy requirement is nearly 100%, the human resources cannot handle the workload and unable to achieve the required accuracy in less time; hence the industrial robots are used. The research paper mainly focused on the industrial robot and automation design and calculation. The advanced mathematical formula, mechanical & electrical component, and the programming language come together to prepare the required industrial robot. The 6-axis robot is a well-known standard robot, which is commonly used by all kinds of MNCs for heavy and accurate work. When selecting a robot properly, it is necessary to consider the different properties of the robot, including how the robot links are connected and controlled at each joint. Next, a thorough evaluation of robotic kinematics, dynamics, and control strategies, together with all the diagnosis of deep neural networks, will describe recent efforts to accelerate the advancement of intelligent control systems for robotic systems.
