Safety is the condition of being safe. Safety Management System (SMS) is the system to be created for managing the safety elements at work place. In an Indian aircraft industry, Safety Management System has been implemented by Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) with Civil Aviation Requirements (CAR) and the Aviation Advisory Circulars (AAC) to reduce the Aircraft accidents. This study deals with aircraft accidents and lessons learnt from the past 10 year's history in Indian aviation sector. The major causes of accidents and techniques for eliminating the causes were studied in this paper.

Due to its high population and growing middle class, Indonesia is a locale for a promising expansion of commercial aviation businesses. Furthermore, being a large archipelago, mobility of people and goods via air travel appears to be the most convenient option available. Nevertheless, aviation safety has remained an issue of concern in Indonesia since 2007, after the EU banned Indonesian aircraft flights in the European airspace. This was done as a response to the multiple accidents that earned Indonesian aviation a global reputation for being unsafe. We conducted the investigation based on a reputable report produced by KNKT, known as the National Transportation Safety Board, to establish a more comprehensive context of this situation. Since 1988, all accident data reports have been gathered and archived in the KNKT database, which was then utilized to further investigate the issues confronting Indonesian airlines by evaluating the data using the EDA approach. According to the results, Papua Island is the least safe region for aviation, with 140 accidents (21.9 percent of the total accidents) in Indonesia over the past 33 years. Moreover, the noteworthy results reveal that 45.71 percent of the accidents or incidents occur during the landing phase. This finding informed us regarding the overall geography of Papua, which lacks transportation roads, prompting the government to open the airport for mobilization. Papua has 217 airports, accounting for 42.3 percent of all Indonesian airports, with 196 being small airports at an average altitude of 452.15 meters. Human factors account for 63 percent of accidents in Papua, while technological factors account for 19 percent. The government may use the study's findings to pressure operators to enhance safety in addition to revitalizing aviation safety supporting technologies.
A Strategy to Improve Aviation Safety of AirAsia Indonesia

This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection is done through observation, interviews, and literature review. The analysis technique of this study uses SWOT analysis as data analysis to determine internal, external factors and efforts to improve aviation safety strategies at AirAsia Indonesia. The conclusion of the results of this study is a SWOT Analysis that can be used to find out what strategies are done at AirAsia Indonesia to improve aviation safety. From the weighting analysis, rating and IFAS and EFAS scores obtained the number of scores on the strength factor (S) 3.10, the weakness factor (W) 0.50, the opportunity factor (O) 2.25 and the threat factor (T) which is 0.75. The Influence of Human Factor and Runway Quality on the Aircraft Accidents in Indonesia

The aim of this study is to know the influence of human factor and runway quality on the aircraft accidents of commercial flights in Indonesia. This study uses survey method with the sample as many as 100 pilots taken in a sampling quota way. Data analysis uses descriptive statistics and correlation inferential statistics and regression. The result of this study indicates a negative and significant influence of human factor on the aircraft accidents, a negative and significant influence of runway quality on the aircraft accidents, and a negative and significant influence of human factor and runway quality simultaneously on the aircraft accidents. The study gives benefit of the importance to keep doing and maintaining continuous improvements on the qualities of human factor and runway at the most optimum level in order to reduce the number of aircraft accidents in Indonesia.

The rapid development of aviation in Indonesia is reflected in the increasing growth in the number of air transport passengers in Indonesia. A Statistical Analysis of Aviation Accidents between 1955 and 2015 in Nepal

Air crash has been the subject of real concern since the development of aviation. Although airplanes, helicopters, jet planes etc. are ensured with a high level of safety, aviation accidents are likely to occur anytime and result in loss of life. Several researches and investigations have shown that human errors have been the most contributing factor of air crashes. This paper presents an analysis of all the accidents involving different kinds of aircrafts such as commercial jet planes, military aircrafts, cargo carriers etc. from 1955 to 2015 in Nepal. The probable causes stated by AAIC reports and preliminary reports are studied and analyzed, and classified under four categories namely: human factors, environmental factors, structural factors and system factors. In addition, the statistics of fatalities and accident rates is also presented in the paper.
Management of Air Accidents: An empirical perspective on Air crashes in India
Traditionally, the term disaster can be categorised as natural disaster and man made disaster. While natural disaster, as the name signifies denotes the fatal accident involving loss of life and property as caused by natural forces of calamity whereas man made disasters are those disasters wherein the role of man as an agent by whose action and deeds are brought or caused the calamitous condition leading to annihilation of life and damage to resources and material to a great extent. Man causes conditions by way of disbalancing the forces of nature which brings about a disaster. It is also believed, to some extent, that natural disasters such as flood, fire, famine, earthquake etc are also caused as a result of disorientation of natural forces which is a fall out of actions perpetuated by man to suit his desires to the extent of disturbing the equilibrium of nature. Air crash is a type of disaster which does not fall within any of the two broad categories of disasters mentioned above. Rather however, it can be termed as an amalgam of the two for air crash disaster involves the both. It is distinct in the sense that this kind of disaster may happen even during the management of a disaster caused by natural calamities of by human aberrations. The Convention on International Civil Aviation defines an aviation accident or to say aircrash as " an occurrence associated with the operation of an air craft, which takes place between the time any person boards the aircraft with the intention of flight until all such persons have disembarked, where a person is fatally or seriously injured, the air craft sustains damage or in accessible. " According to the CICA, the first fatal air accident was the air crash of a Roziere balloon near the city Wimerreux in France on 15 th June 1785. This air crash accident killed the inventor of the balloon, Mr. Jean Francois Pilate De Rozier along with the other occupant Mr. Pierre Romain whereas the first air accident involving a powered air craft happened in Foot Myer, Virginia in the USA on 17 th September, 1908 involving Wright model A aircraft in which their crew members including the co-inventor and pilot Mr. Orville Wright were killed. This paper aims to explain the development of aviation safety in Indonesia prior to the removal of the ban on flights of Indonesian Airlines by the European Commission during the 2007-2018 period, and to examine the diplomatic steps taken by the Indonesian government concerning the removal of the ban. This article employs a qualitative approach which is a literature study. Data were obtained from various official documents and reports, as well as articles and news related to the issue of Indonesian airline's flight ban by the European Commission. The results exhibit a lengthy diplomacy process that took place in the year 2007-2018, illustrating the weakness in the aviation safety aspect of Indonesia's aviation that must be improved. Management Failures: the Case of Indonesia by Dessy Aliandrina On 28 July 2007, the European Union (EU) banned Indonesian airlines from flying to Europe. This threatened reputations, and caused psychosocial harm and economic damage to the country. The ban was imposed because: (1) there were verified serious operating deficiencies in all certified airlines in Indonesia; (2) the US FAA downgraded Indonesia's IASA safety rating; (3) the ICAO USOAP identified serious shortcomings in the ability of the Indonesian authorities to perform their safety oversight responsibilities; and (4) the ability of the Indonesian authorities to properly implement and enforce safety standards. These deficiencies were further evidenced by the high accident and incident rates.
