Introduction: The importance of air quality and paying attention to what we breathe have been valuable always. So that air pollution is one of the key environmental issues in urban communities. Several studies show that the potential effects of air pollution on human health include increased mortality and changes in cardiovascular and respiratory functions. Materials and methods: The population of this study was people in 22 dis-tricts of Tehran megacity. The questionnaires were placed at the municipality centers of 22 districts and randomly completed by people who came to the center. Questions included the importance of air pollution, the comparison of air quality with last year, the main sources of air pollution, the problems created by air pollution, the quality of informing system, as well as questions about their satisfaction about government’s actions on air pollution control plans. Introduction: Understanding public attitudes for planning policies and actions to control air pollution is important. Attitude is partially socially constructed and thus must be studied in each area separately, rather than inferred from other settings. This study was aimed to evaluate the knowledge and attitudes of university students about the air pollution sources and solutions in Tehran. Material and methods: 200 students of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (SBMU) during 2015 - 2016 years were selected by random sampling. The questionnaires were used to collect data consisted of four parts: demographic information, knowledge, attitude, and solutions for reducing air pollution. Background : From November 2015 to January 2016, the routine air monitoring showed a peak of air pollution (in particular of PM10) that caused alarm in many Italian cities and was widely reported by mass media. After some weeks from this alarm, we tried to evaluate the citizen awareness and interest towards air pollution together with their positive behaviors, using different information sources. Methods: From September 2015 to March 2016, in parallel with the number of exceedances of the PM10 in Italy we evaluated the press coverage, the average monthly searches on Google and the interest on Twitter. Study of students' knowledge about air pollution can help authorities to have better imagination of this critical environmental problem. This research examines guidance school and high school students' ideas about air pollution and the results may be useful for the respective authorities to improve cultural and educational aspects of next generation. In this cross-sectional study, a closed questionnaire was used to examine knowledge and ideas of 2140 randomly selected school students of Tehran-Iran about composition of unpolluted air, air pollution and its causes and consequences. Cognitive scores were also calculated. Outcomes were compared with results of similar researches in Australia, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. While a student's 'cognitive score' could range from -16 to +16, Iranian students' mean cognitive score was equal to +2.97. Background and purpose: Recent perspectives on public understandings of global environmental risk have emphasized the interpretation, judgment and sense-making "that takes place, modes of perception that are inextricably tied to aspects of and local" context. The main interest of this study is to observe the socio-demographic (gender, age, and education) differences in awareness of pollution and sources of air pollution. Materials and Methods: The target population of this study were adult (>25 years) inhabitants of Tehran city. The information is gathered through a questionnaire conducted in various study areas then compared with demographic variables. Results : Awareness of air pollution was highly found in higher educated of men, while this same result was observed within the women with lower education (under diploma). The results also showed that women in both groups are more concerned with all of the pollution than men. Conclusion: With regard to health impacts, men perceived air pollution to be associated with respiratory disease, whereas women perceive asthma to be associated with air pollution.

The relationship between human being and environment is a two way process. If one is disturbed, other will automatically be the victim. The present study is conducted to assess the awareness about the industrial air pollution among the people living besides the industries and to illustrate the effects of ill-environment on the health of human beings regarding their respiratory system. The environmental components involved in infectious diseases. Also many other ailments like asthma and other respiratory diseases are known to be environmental linked. Keeping in view the importance of this aspect a research to assess the awareness of people about industrial air pollution and its effects on human's respiratory system was designed. 90 households were selected by using purposive sampling technique. The tool of data collection for Survey was a semi structured interview schedule. Chi-square test was used and percentages calculated for the analysis of data, which were indicating that those people who lived near industrial area were affected more due to industrial air pollution than those who lived far away from industries. Results illustrated that majority of the respondents (91.1 percent) were aware about reasons of air pollution in their area. Background: This study aimed to determine the level of knowledge of vocational school health services students about air pollution, examine some of the variables thought to be related, and evaluate the levels of air pollution perception and sensitivity. Materials and Methods: This is a cross-sectional study conducted on a group of a high school students in Turkey between March 2018 and March 2019. The prepared questionnaire was delivered online. The level of knowledge about air pollution was evaluated by information questions, and those who scored 4.5 and below were accepted as having "insufficient knowledge about air pollution." The students' Air Pollution Perception and Sensitivity levels were evaluated with the "Air Pollution Perception and Sensitivity Scale." Results: The number of those with insufficient knowledge about air pollution was 867 (34.7%). Being male, 16 years of age and under, living in towns and villages, having a father's education level at secondary school, and not being a member of any environmental organization were determined as risk factors for insufficient knowledge about air pollution. Conclusions: Those with sufficient knowledge about air pollution have higher Air Pollution Detection and Sensitivity levels. In order to increase the air pollution knowledge level of Vocational School of Health Services students, it is recommended to carry out informational and educational studies on the subject.

Background and Objective: Air pollution is the most common cause of global warming, it has become a major contributor in these past few years due to lack of awareness and control of pollution among people. 1 Most of the people in India are unaware of what Air Quality Index is either. In urban areas excess use of fuels and wastage of resources has caused massive increase in air pollution which lead to decrease in average life span of human beings. 2 Our objective was to assess the level of awareness and knowledge among the people regarding air pollution and its prevention in selected urban areas of Pune. As well to find the level of knowledge on AQI and to find the association between knowledge among the people regarding air pollution and its prevention in selected urban areas of Pune city Methods: A non-experimental descriptive design with quantitative approach, was adopted to assess the knowledge on air pollution and its prevention and Air Quality index among people residing in urban areas of Pune city. It includes 250 samples from selected areas .Non probability convenience sampling technique was adopted in this study. Result: Based on the objectives of the study which is to assess the knowledge of the people and the association between the demographic variables, the following result has been identified. The knowledge level was identified as; 20.8% of the people have a poor knowledge level on air pollution, its prevention and air quality index; 76% of the people have an average knowledge regarding air pollution, its prevention and air quality index and only 3.2% of the people have good knowledge regarding air pollution, its prevention and air quality index. By using the paired t test formula, the t value is 0.05. The demographic variable of education alone has an association with 0.001 as the closest value to the average. The other demographic variables of gender, age and employment do not have an association with the t value, as they are more than the average with findings of 0.119, 0.643 and 0.481 respectively.
