Education and Society (शिक्षण आशण समाज), 2022
The farmers' way of life and the standard of living in southern India, especially in Tamil Nadu, are the focal points of these research projects. Farmers and farm workers generally work long hours yet help the country financially. The GDP accounts for 16% of the overall GDP in a year. In this research, the convenience sampling technique has been used. This sample consists of farmers and agriculture cooli at Tirunelveli Taluk in Tirunelveli district. Of the 55 questionnaires distributed to the farmers, 44 questionnaires were returned to the searcher for the purpose of the study. This evidence suggests that India is primarily an agricultural nation. However, this development has mostly benefited farmers in rural villages. Efforts to raise the standard of living for the masses continue to face enormous obstacles. Most studies rely on subsistence farming and smallholder agriculture for funding, indicating that agriculture remains the economic backbone. Many farmers are psychologically unwell due to shifts in agricultural techniques and economic circumstances, making farming a high-stress occupation. When farmers' economic situations worsen, it can lead to emotional suffering. Keywords: Farmer lifestyle, Agriculture, Minimum supporting price,
