Stress Management: A Critical View
Now a days "Human Resource" is considered as one of the most important resources. In the era of dynamic business most of the organizations invest a huge amount of money and spend a great deal of time and effort as though they can properly utilize and manage this vital resource. Stress is one of the burning questions that hinders the workers performance and productivity. We all experience it that affects our minds and bodies. This paper has been essentially built around the inputs obtained by conducting a comprehensive study covering the various aspects of stress in today's business. This paper has also tried to address three major key areas related with the type and sources of work related stress, impact of stress on individuals and the way of managing stress.

The present paper is an attempt to understand the various factors which contributes for the stress in working environment. It a conceptual paper and for this purpose various secondary sources are included and also to some extent core group discussions conducted to validate the concept. Stress is much in the news at present but it isn't a new problem. Pressure is part and parcel of all work and helps to keep us motivated. But excessive pressure can lead to stress which undermines performance, is costly to employers and can make people ill. Research reveals that many working days are lost to stress, depression and anxiety. Work-related stress costs a huge burden to the society. Stress takes many forms as well as leading to anxiety and depression it can have a significant impact on an employee's physical health. Almost every person experience some of kind stress in day to day life. "Stress" is a dynamic condition in which an individual is confronted with an opportunity, constraint or demand, related to what he or she desires for which outcome is perceived to be both uncertain and important". In an nformal sense, stress management refers to what we all do quite spontaneously on a day to day basis. In this sense we all manage our stress more or less effectively. A major way, in which we achieve this, is, through the use of coping strategies / mechanisms. These are conscious attempts to adapt to stress in a positive and constructive way. Our objective for the current research work is 1. To assess the degree of stress management skills of people working in Chashma. 2. To measure the attitude of people towards stress management. The population of this study consists of people working at Chashma in Public Sector. Sampling Technique A sample of fifty respondents will be selected through convenience sampling technique. The primary data is collected through questionnaire and secondary data is collected from books, and retrieved from online resources. The data collected will be analyzed using different descriptive analytical methods e.g. tabulation and t-test of significance. In the view of the research work conducted it is found that although there are sufficient facilities to reduce stress at different level by stress management such as sports centre, club, swimming pool but there is no proper employee support program to combat organizational stress. Stressors such as limited availability of daily life utilities such as shopping area, high quality education for children and child elderly care are lacking.

Background: Nurses especially female nurses are under a great deal of stress related to a varietyof occupational, organization, socio-demographic and psychographic stressors. Occupational stressors contribute to organizational inefficiency, highstaff turnover, absenteeism due to sickness, decreased quality, and quantity of practice, increasedcosts of health care, and decreased job satisfaction. One of the organizational outcomes thataffected by occupational stress is job performance. Purpose: The purpose of this study toinvestigate the effect of job stress on job performance. Methods: The universe of the study isTertiary Hospital, is a descriptive and exploratory analysis of a person. Results: The analysis showed that there is an inverserelationship between job stress factors and job performance indicating that there is high job stress in the staff nurses, resulting in low job performance, depression, emotional exhaustion and anxietyand different problems may effect on work. Conclusion: Correct stress management shouldstart from improved health and good intrapersonal relationships. The prevention and managementof workplace stress requires organizational level interventions, because it is the organization thatcreates the stress. Success in managing and preventing stress will depend on the culture in theorganization. Thosestaff nurses who had high level of job stress had low job performance.

STRESS IN WORKPLACE - POSSIBLE PREVENTION
Assuming that stress is a misfit between the demands of the environment and the individual's abilities, the imbalance may be corrected, according to the situation, either by adjusting external demands to fit the individual or by strengthening the individual's ability to cope, or both. At this point, it should be borne in mind that since stress is a multifaceted phenomenon, no simple solution is available. Furthermore, differences in the particular circumstances of each case make it impossible to provide a unique solution for the management of stress. In general, and regardless of their differences, publications conclude that the ideal solution to combat stress is to prevent its occurrence. This may be achieved by tackling the core of the problem -the cause. However, there is no single cause of stress and the elimination of all stressors is a utopian task. Therefore, action should be aimed at eliminating as many causes as possible, so that the action taken reduces stress and prevents future stress. As this cannot always be achieved in the short term, it is generally agreed that improving the ability to cope with stress is a valuable strategy in the process of combating stress. The manual can then go on to identify a series of essential steps for the prevention of stress. These include: stress recognition, stress assessment, anti-stress intervention, monitoring and evaluation. With a view to such assessment, several manuals propose involving workers in identifying those stressors which, they feel, cause unnecessary stress in their jobs and in rating them to establish priorities for intervention. The assessment should be done in an "audit" of the relevant hazards, and employees should be asked to express their concern about any situation that may be causing stress at work. Once the existence of stress has been recognized and the stressors identified, action to deal with stress should be taken. Wide-ranging types of interventions may thus be considered in the manuals, leaving the choice of the most effective combination to the target audience according to the specific features of the particular work situation. The following is a possible list of types of intervention, ranging from interventions targeted at the work environment to those targeted at the individual: Intervention of the external socioeconomic environment, intervention on technology and work organization, intervention in working place and task structure, intervention to improve individual responses and behaviour, specific intervention for health protection and promotion.

Moreover it is a notable fact that an absolute elimination of stress is unrealistic, so it is very important to manage the stress for those undergoing through it. This paper attempts to get an insight into the stress management concept and how far it is important to achieve success in this competent world. It would also explore how stress management skill helps you to excel in your field. Stress acts as a killer and a life force as well. A minimum amount of stress known as eustress is necessary, whose consequences are helpful or otherwise positive. It is a driving force to do any task efficiently. The paper will further talk about the various other related factors and the strategies employed for stress management.
