First captures of Ischnopsyllus (I.) elongatus (Curtis, 1832) (Siphonaptera: Ischnopsyllidae) in the Iberian Peninsula (original) (raw)

2000

Abstract

In April 1999 a female of Ischnopsyllus (I.) elongatus (Curtis, 1883) was captured on Nyctalus lasiopterus (Schreber, 1780) (Chiroptera: Vespertilionidae) in Seville, Spain. In July 2000 another female was captured on the same bat species at Doñana National Park, Almonte (Huelva, Spain). These are the first records for the Iberian Peninsula, the first records for this host species and the most south-western records for this flea.
