The emergence of a novel coronavirus at the end of 2019 generated a severe health crisis worldwide. In a few months, this virus called COVID-19 was present in several countries, being recognized by the WHO as a pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic was dramatic for the economy and society. In many economic sectors, companies were faced with the inoperability of their commercial activities. For example, in the healthcare sector, institutions were faced with unprecedented pressure, and this pandemic has exposed some weaknesses in the responses to environmental changes. As a result of this scenario, knowledge management and organizational intelligence become fundamental for hospitals to adapt to changes in the environment and respond effectively to new challenges. Considering this scenario, this research aims to analyze the influence of effective knowledge management, organizational intelligence, and organizational performance on the effective hospitals' response to COVID-19. Data were collected through research sent to physicians and nurses working in Brazil and Portugal hospitals. We sent the survey using a professional social network, and 248 valid responses were obtained. The PLS-SEM analysis technique was used to test hypotheses. The results showed a positive relationship between effective knowledge management, organizational intelligence, and organizational performance with the effective hospital's response to COVID-19. Additionally, the results suggest the need for managers to focus more on developing internal programs encouraging knowledge transfers among their employees. As practical implications, our research validates the relationships between effective knowledge management, organizational performance, effective hospitals' response to COVID-19, and the importance of effective knowledge management for pandemic management. In originality, this research provides hospitals and other healthcare organizations with a direction on key resources to which these organizations should turn their efforts to improve their effectiveness in responding to new disease outbreaks.

Knowledge gaining, sharing and knowledge management was always a key for success for any organization its employees all the time. Based on knowledge of the managements and its people, organizations have emerged, grown and shown trends with technological developments and innovative solutions to the challenges for day-today life. However, it is also clear that other functions and demand from the business requirements made many organizations and employees to spend less time on enhancing knowledge and further upgrading themselves and the reason given was busy in day-today activities. Logistics and travel time from home to office, stress of work etc. added further challenges to the wishes of employees for spending time to upgrade knowledge. Then we had suddenly, the effects of pandemic in the name of COVID-19 and its impact on life. Since many people must work from home and suddenly lot of time, the focus on knowledge sharing through webinars, online interactions have emerged. Every organization keep eye on performances even in such situation for their survival and livelihood of its employees and are eager to see effect of these knowledge sharing sessions on the performances of employees and result into business gain.

The ongoing pandemic COVID-19 is soliciting the question: what do we know about the knowledge management in a pandemic? Knowledge is a strategic resource to drive decisionmakers in the management of a pandemic, to mitigate health and socio-economic effects. Unlike other natural disasters, pandemics have a long lead time, and during this time can be actively managed. Decisions taken in such a complex process can change the course and the effects of a pandemic. Despite the critical role of knowledge management in pandemics, that inform and enable decision-makers, the literature on this specific issue is poor, fragmented, mainly addressed by “health” journals and marginally addressed by the “knowledge management” scholars. This paper aims to provide the ground for filling this gap, by detecting the state-of-art, that is the topics and the past studies, about Knowledge Management in pandemics.
Important Factor of Knowledge Management to Response on COVID-19 in KSA.
The world is facing an emerging infectious disease that is causing tribulation and it seems that this is not new even to the rest of the world. A question needs to be answered on how we can capitalize our records of data and experienced in neutralizing this treat to humanity and economy as a whole. The aim of this paper is to show the importance of Knowledge Management in creating a systematic process in harnessing of data and technology to capture and process this information into knowledge of coherent strategy that is comprehensive enough to fight against infectious disease. The KM method, which can turn knowledge into a strategic asset and accurately making them readily available for fast implementation. It is a method that can generate a process and guidelines on handling any situation similar to what the world is facing right now. In this study, a propose usage of this method can impact governing strategy, technical research, medical workflow and cases statistics because of the huge inflow of raw data needed to be transformed into useful information. This study is aimed to provide a contribution through a knowledge sharing and management of all gathered data and information during this time. Lastly, considering the knowledge from previous pandemics with over a decade of data.

The world of work and the status of the human being is constantly changing by the influence of new technologies and the contributions of scientists and practitioners of HRM; therefore, the human being is currently considered as a wealth and its value is maximized. Economists have called it (human capital), accountants (human assets), while contemporary managers have called it (knowledge capital). This change has occurred in the perception of HR due to the transformations that affected the work process began with the TIC revolution of the 21st century, which is concentrated on creativity, innovation based on Competencies to achieve total quality and well-being. But globalization, by for-profit companies, has prioritized profit and the values added to the detriment of which weakened the existence of medical organizations and their personnel as revealed by the Covid-19. Sustainable societies need to consider the connection between knowledge management (KM) and healthcare as a critical issue for social development. They need to investigate how to create knowledge and identify possible predictors of knowledge-sharing behavior that can support a hospital’s sustainable knowledge-management strategy. The purpose of this paper is to present a valid and reliable questionnaire about KM in healthcare organizations. We develop a new knowledge-management questionnaire based on the use of an extensive literature review and health professionals’ consensus. This paper intends to examine the importance of knowledge management in increasing the competitive advantage of organizations during the COVID-19 pandemic. This paper also tackles the degree of acceptance of advanced technology in Lebanon overall. The surveys were circulated among 1,000 executives in diverse industries across the country. The total of 246 questionnaires was completed, with the response rate of 24.6% from the total population. The results of our study demonstrate how considering the significance of knowledge management will help organizations to be successful during the pandemic, namely, by improving strategic management decisions, taking into consideration long-run performance of the company and achieving organizational objectives.
