Three perspectives on indigenous’ struggles in neoliberal Chile (original) (raw)
The paper examines the struggles of indigenous peoples in neoliberal Chile through the lens of three significant books. It highlights the impacts of extractivism and centralized decision-making on indigenous livelihoods, particularly focusing on the Mapuche and Aymara communities. While acknowledging instances of resilience and organization among indigenous groups, it critiques the superficial representation of their political struggles and calls for genuine recognition and power for these communities in Chile's ongoing development initiatives.
