The study established the length-weight relationship and condition factor of Cyprinus carpio from the river Ganga. Fish samples of 342 having a size of 9.0 cm to 689 mm were studied to establish the lengthweight relationship. The length-weight relationship was established as W = 0.03576 TL, W = 0.03266 TL and W = 0.032738 TL for male, female and combined sex, respectively. The correlation coefficient (r) was highly significant for male and female, indicating a strong correlation between length and weight (r= 0.91; p<0.001). The regression coefficient a and b were highly significant in both the sexes (p<0.001). The‘t’ test depicted clear deviation from the isometric pattern of growth (b = 3) in male (t = 5.25, p<0.05), female (t = 5.17, p<0.05) and pooled data (t = 7.03, p<0.05). Fish landings are routinely measured for length and weight to study fish bioecology, which provide important information about biomass, population dynamics and condition of fish. The current study describes the lengthweight relationships (LWRs) and length-length relationships (LLRs) of six fish species (Cyprinus carpio, Carassius carassius, Schizothorax niger, S. curvifrons, Crossocheilus diplochilus and Pethia conchonius) based on seasonal fish sampling from the Dal Lake during September 2019 to August 2020. The estimated LWRs and LLRs were highly significant (p < 0.05) with high coefficient of determination r 2 and the estimated b values ranged from 2.50 to 3.55. The estimated b values revealed negative allometric growth of fish species except P. conchonius which possesses positive allometric growth. The mean value of condition factor for C. carpio, C. carassius, S. niger, S. curvifrons, C. diplochilus and P. conchonius were 1.43±0.25, 1.55±0.24, 0.86±0.14, 0.80±0.13, 1.21±0.17 and 1.64±0.34 respectively and it varied significantly among these fish species (ANOVA: p < 0.05). The study shows LWRs, LLRs and current condition of some forage fish species viz., C. carassius, C. diplochilus and P. conchonius as well as invasive C. carpio and local Schizothorax species from the Dal Lake, all possessing economic and conservation significance.

Alburnus atropatena, Barbus lacerta, Capoeta capoeta, Carrasius gibelio, Romanogobio macropterus and Pseudorasbora parva from Zarrineh River (Urmia Lake basin, Iran). A total of 188 specimens ranging from 2.9 to 21.4cm in total length and 0.22 to 176g in total weight were collected. Based on the results, the values of b varied between 2.59 for C. capoeta, to 3.26 for A. atropatenae. All length-weight relationships were significant (P<0.001), with r2 greater than 0.88. The condition factor were found to be between 0.075±0.244 for C. capoeta to 1.021±0.143 for C. gibelio. The length-length relations between total length, fork length, and standard length for the six fish species were highly significant (r2>0.98). All linear regressions were highly significant (P<0.05).

Length-weight relationship (LWR) of five species of the genus Labeo (Family: Cyprinidae) namely L. rohita (Hamilton, 1822), L. calbasu (Hamilton,1822), L. bata (Hamilton,1822), L. dyocheilus (McClelland, 1839) and L. porcellus (Heckel, 1844), based on 214 specimens collected from Cauvery River in Peninsular India, were established. Sampling was carried out from December 2017 to December 2018 at around three months interval. The value of regression coefficient (b) ranged from 2.6147 (L. bata) to 3.2855 (L. dyocheilus). A new maximum length of 41 cm for L. porcellus has been recorded. For L. porcellus, LWR is established for the first time while for other species (except L. rohita); it is estimated for the first time from a peninsular river in India. Relative condition factor estimated for the five fish species did not show large scale variation (1.001 to 1.019).

An investigative study was carried on the length-weight relationship and condition factor of Cyprinus carpio var. communis, in Manasbal Lake, Kashmir. A total of 360 samples were collected from July 2018 to June 2019. The length-weight relationship was established as W= 4.6033 L2.9031. The study indicated a negative allometric growth. The condition factor ranged between 1.23 to 1.88 in females and 1.31 to 1.84 in males indicating good condition of the fish. The combined condition factor was found to be highest (1.87) in the month of November and lowest (1.27) in the month of March.
LENGTH-WEIGHT RELATIONSHIP AND CONDITION FACTOR OF COMMON CARP, CYPRINUS CARPIO
This study aimed at determining the length length at first maturity of common carp (sampled monthly using a gill net of mesh size between 1.5 to 5 inches. The lake was accessed using an engine boat from November 2013 to February 2014 Total length and weight of weighing balance (0.1g) respectively. There was a significant difference of Length relationships between males and females (p < 0.05) with 'r' values of females respectively. The growth exponent ('b' values) of the length weight relationship for the fish was 2.3 for males, indicating isometric growth and condition factor was 1.23 ± 0.21 good condition for females were already spent during the period of sampling C. carpio

Background: Length-weight relationships and condition factors of giant tiger shrimp Penaeus monodon (Fabricius, 1798) from four breeding families (family S: South China seas family, family A: African family, family SA: ♂ South China seas family × ♀ Africa family, family AS: ♂ Africa family × ♀ South China seas family) were evaluated in this study. Findings and conclusion: Length-weight relationships can be expressed as W = 0.0239BL 2.789 (R 2 = 0.8977) in family S, W = 0.0206BL 2.9107 (R 2 = 0.9107) in family A, W = 0.0211BL 2.831 (R 2 = 0.8869) in family SA, and W = 0.0249BL 2.781 (R 2 = 0.9159) in family AS. The growth of P. monodon from four breeding families follows a negative allometric trend. Fulton's body condition factor (K) was not significantly different in males, while in females, the highest K (3.07) was observed in family AS, and the lowest K was found in family A (1.88). Results from the present study indicate that the cross group family AS (♂ Africa family × ♀ South China seas family) has obvious heterosis in females. This may suggest that the direction of further breeding of P. monodon, should be conducted by using Africa family as male parent, and South China seas family as female parent. Results from the present study will provide valuable information on selective breeding in P. monodon. Methodology used in the present study can also be applied in other similar species.

Age and growth of Labeo bata (Ham .) was studied by the analysis of annuli found on the scale and by length-frequency distribution. The fish attained lengths of 131,194, 236, 277, 314, 341 and 364 mm at the end of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th years of life respectively . The increase in length of scale bears a constant relationship with the increase in length of fish, and regression analysis yielded a straight line between scale and body length .
