The review is focused on the newly published book by Anton Aškerc "Rhapsodies of the Bulgarian Gusler" (2016) translated in Bulgarian by Lyudmil Dimitrov and Ivan Dimitrov. The book contains the poetic cycle "Rhapsodies of the Bulgarian Gusler", other poems, travel notes, reviews and letters by the Slovenian poet, the majority of these works are unknown to the Bulgarian audience. The appearance of Aškerc's book is seen as an event for the Bulgarian literature and Bulgarian literary history that is late for more than 100 year.
