Effect of Spaced Repetitions on Amnesia Patients Recall and Recognition Performance (original) (raw)
This study examines the effects of spaced repetitions on recall and recognition performance in amnesia patients. Results indicate that amnesia patients benefit from spaced presentations, exhibiting spacing effects similar to controls in recognition tasks, likely due to additional rehearsal opportunities. In contrast, recall tasks benefited from spaced repetitions through the establishment of retrieval cues, suggesting differences in underlying mechanisms between normal individuals and amnesia patients.
