Ethnomedicinal plants used for different ailments by the tribals of district Raisen (M.P.), India

The present investigation was carried out for documentation of native medicinal plants which are exploited for medicinal purposes in the Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh. The district is rich in repository economically as well as ethnomedicinally for important for plants. Information was collected from tribals using interview and semi-structural questionnaires among the traditional medicine men of the area. First hand information on ethnomedicinal uses of plants, part used, mode of administration, botanical name, and family is enlisted in the paper which deals with 25 medicinal plants used for different dreaded diseases like diabetes, cancer, sexual disorders, ulcers, etc. These plants are arranged alphabetically in table.

Study of some ethno medicinal plants used by tribals of Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh, India

Shahdol is one of the tribal district of Madhya Pradesh and plants are being used as medicine and pharmaceuticals by large numbers of tribal, rural and urban people. Several tribal communities like Gond, Baiga and Kol inhibit in the area. An Ethno botanical surveys had been carried out in the Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh from 2015-2016. The investigation deals about 34 plant species which are used by tribals of this area. A record of 34 medicinal plant species which is belong to 28 Family and 34 Genera used by tribals to cure various ailments among human beings are given. Ethno medicinal information was gathering through interview to Ojha and medicnman for curing of diseases. The present paper deals with the ethno botanical study of Shahdol region for the preparation of an inventory. Details of medicinal plants are described alphabetically, Botanical names followed by family, local names, plants part used, and the ethno medicinal uses have been provided.

Present communication brings to knowledge the traditional methods of treating human diseases and disorders using plant-based drugs recorded from tribal and rural folks in Koriya district (C.G.). The present paper is a study of the traditional knowledge of medicinal plants and its use by local people of Koriya district. it has rich variety of plant species. Medicinal plants are the principal health care resources among the most of people in India. Local people of this region are basically depends upon medicinal plants for their primary health care system. Ethnomedicinal investigation of medicinal plants from tribal communities of Uttarakhand

Medicinal plants come under Non timber forest product (NTFPs), which play a significant role in livelihood making of local traditional healers of Uttarakhand. In addition to the items of basic need, the forest also provides life-giving NTFP medicines to the natives to cure from different disease as well as economic benefits. This study has been done to document medicinal plants from different areas of Uttarakhand. In which Mana village and Niti Valley of Chamoli district, Munsiyari in Pithoragarh and Harsil, Taluka in Uttarkashi were included, where different tribal peoples are directly dependent on the forests for their basic needs. Even today NTFPs are collected from the forests by the tribal people and sold in the local markets for sustenance. The present paper provides information on the use of indigenous knowledge of medicinal plants for the prevention of various diseases by people in tribal pockets.

Study of Traditional Knowledge of Medicinal Plants and Their Use by Tribal People of Sitapur and Bagicha Block in Chhattisgarh, India

The study was conducted for Traditional Knowledge of Medicinal Plants, Part use and their Uses in Tribal Region of Sitapur and Bagicha Block in Chhattisgarh. Korwa tribe knows total 41 Medicinal Plant, Similarly Gond Tribe knows 34 Medicinal plants, Uraon tribe knows 31 Medicinal plant Species and Nagvanshi Tribe knowns 28 Medicinal Plant species. As per the knowledge of respondents about Medicinal tree species Arjun(Terminalia arjuna), Baheda(Terminalia bellirica), Harra (Terminalia chebula), Karanj (Pongamia pinnata), Neem (Azadiracta indica), Char(Buchanania lanzan) Mahua (Madhuca indica) etc. are mostly using as medicinal purpose followed by Bhuineem (Andrographis paniculata), Chirchita (Achyranthes aspera) Bariyari (Sida acuta), Satavar (Asparagus racemosus), Sher datum(Smilax macrophylla), Genda (Tegetes erecta), Hadsanghar (Nyctanthes arbortristis), Hathhjod (Cissus quadrangularis) and Kewach (Mucuna pruriens) etc. are shrub and climber Species use by the tribal people. Therefore, it is the needful aspect of conserving these biological resources for a sustainable ecosystem. This information given by tribal's shows the very diverse nature of Medicinal plants they use in healing purpose & living standard upliftment.

An Ethnobotanical Study of Medicinal Plants Used by the Tribes in Upper Subansiri District of Arunachal Pradesh, India

Main objective of the study was to identify and document the ethno botanically important and economic plants of the Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh, India. The Tagin, Hill Miri (now Nyshi) and Galo tribes of Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh state of India use number of medicinal plants available in local forests as 'traditional medicine' for curing common illness. The ethnobotanical information was collected by field survey among aboriginal community, by study with herbaria and museum, by study of rituals, myths and folkfores and through folk market survey. The villages inhabited by the tribesmen were selected randomly for each tribe for the purpose of survey. The paper presents 140 numbers of medicinal plants used by these tribes for themselves and 18 numbers of plants for curing livestock diseases and for their feeding. Fresh leaves, young twigs, bark, fruits and roots are reported be used as traditional medicine for treatment of ailments among human beings and domestic livestock. The present documentation on the traditional medicine of the three tribes of Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh emphasizes that many people of the region still depend upon herbal medicine for treatment of human as well as livestock diseases. Thorough biochemical investigation and clinical trials of local traditional medicines may provide new direction for human health care system. There is a need to focus on more ethnobotanical research, conservation and documentation of traditional medicinal knowledge among indigenous communities of the state.

Survey of Ethnobotanical Medicinal Plants Used by the People of District Guna, Madhya Pradesh, India

The documentation of the biodiversity and it is traditional, as well as medicinal uses by the ethnic communities, have assumed priority due to the misuse and rampant loss of biodiversity, the emerging threats of biopiracy and the increasing patent wars on bioresources. Since, the medicinal plants are very important for the production of various drugs because thousands of years ago, these plants are used by our forefathers for the treatment of various diseases. Therefore, now a day, these medicinal plants are used for the production of various drugs as well as to cure various diseases. Though there are a good number of publications on ethnobotany on particular and different tribes but the present studies were carried out to explore the vascular plant diversity and investigate the ethnomedicinal potential and their conservation status in the villages of Guna district, Madhya Pradesh, India. In this research survey, only medicinal plant, their local names and their medicinal uses were interviewed and presented. The information was obtained from local informant i.e. Vaidhays, Hakeems and Ayurvedic Practitioners etc. having knowledge about medicinal plants. The paper deals about some medicinal plants used by the Bheel primitive tribe of Guna district, Madhya Pradesh, India. The paper enumerates 25 medicinal plant species belonging to eighteen families used by Bheel tribes for curing various ailments among human beings and animals.

Introduction Ethno-botany deals with the studies among the tribal and rural people for recording their unique knowledge about plant wealth and search of the new sources of herbal drugs, edible plants and other aspect of plants. The term “Ethnobotany” was first used by American Botanist John William Harsberger in 1895 to describe the study of people’s use of plants, including medicinal plants. Use of plants to cure specific ailments is an age old practice in our country. It is considered as an indigenous systemand has been documented in Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and other type of therapies, but during the last century there has been a rapid extension of allopathic medicinal treatment in India and presently it has become one of the most prevalent systems of medicine in the modern society.

Some Ethnoveterinary Medicinal Plants used among Tribals of Satpura range Burhanpur of M.P., India

The present exploration encompasses in-depth investigation on Ethnobotanical plants used as Ethno-veterinary medicine in the district of Burhanpur M.P., India. The present exploration revealed that 45 ethno-veterinary medicinal plants belonging to 43 genera under 29 families are used by tribals of Satpura range of Burhanpur district. Authors found that they are habitual to use plant parts in different formulations, leaves are predominantly used, followed by fruits, roots/ rhizomes, stem and bark.

Documentation of tribal’s traditional knowledge of medicinal plants from Renlagadda Thanda, Kodangal mandal, Mahabubnagar Dist, Telangana, India

The aim of this report is giving the importance in need of ground leveal documentation of medicinal plants, their ingrediants and usage. To be effort has been made to evaluate plants used for medicare by the tribal people of Renla Gadda Thanda, Kodangal mandal, Mahabubnagar Dist, Telangana. Due to be deficient in of modern healthcare facilities and poor economic conditions, the tribal people of the Thanda fully depend on in the vicinity available medicinal plants for their healthcare needs. In the present report a total of 24 ethnomedicinal plants from 23 genus and 24 species occupied 18 families were recorded. The thorough information i.e., Usage, to be treated disorder, Parts used recorded. This is a first report from the Renlagadda Thanda of Kodangal mandal. The study area having wealthy in medicinal plants flora and tribal communities with latest usages. Documentation of traditional knowledge on medicinal plants from the village or thanda level is the elementary and necessary samples for novel medication.
