The mixture of AR technology with the tutorial content creates new quite automated applications and acts to strengthen the effectiveness and attractiveness of teaching and learning for college kids in real-world scenarios. Augmented Reality (AR) could also be a technology field that involves the seamless overlay of a computer generates virtual images on the important world, in such how that the virtual content is aligned with world objects, and may be viewed and interacted with in real-time. Technology in education can influence students to seek out activities and should motivate them, leading to an efficient process of learning. The review of the results of research shows that, overall, AR technologies have positive potential and advantages which may be adopted in education.

The progress in mobile application development had emphasized it to be embedded in technology especially in educational environment. In parallel, technology enhanced learning where the function was to engage the student focus, enhances the learning experiences and memorable. However, the current mobile learning systems are lacking of interactivity in term of learning content which causes student’s lack of focus and memorable. So, this article is about a survey of mobile learning application through Augmented Reality (AR) which consists of the technology in Augmented Reality, and the concept of visualization of AR in education. In this article, the framework design and integration of mobile based learning system through AR for educational environment is identified and the concept of AR Books are applied to enhances student’s experiences during learning process..

The Use of Augmented Reality Technology for Primary School Education in Perlis, Malaysia

Journal of Physics: Conference Series, 2018

The advanced of the technology evolving currently enable the use of innovative learning tools for various fields especially in education. Different technologies have been implemented in the educational sector to enhance the method of teaching and learning. Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology with vast potential and great pedagogical that offers new methods for the purpose of education. AR with computer generated system allows user to see the real world environment with virtual objects superimposed or composite in real world. Although AR will enhance the educational outcome, the domain specific, pedagogical and psychological aspects have to be considered for real use in class. The strategies such as collaborative learning were considered when designing and engaging an AR learning environment. Collaboration is to work together from one to other party where they can communicate each other to learn and get some mutual benefits. This research gives a brief insight into the potential and challenge of Augmented Reality in education to enhance the method of teaching and learning from conventional to the technological by using the AR technology.

Tertiary study on the application of augmented reality in education

Anais do XIV Encontro Unificado de Computação do Piauí (ENUCOMPI 2021)

The aim of this work is to carry out a tertiary study on the use of Augmented Reality (AR) in education, based on a set of five research questions. This review will greatly benefit researchers who wish to conduct research on the topic for the first time. In addition, this study extends to new researchers due to the compilation of important information that was collected through Systematic Literature Reviews RSL. It was concluded that the research questions were answered based on the findings and it is also possible to observe the expansion of technologies, AR research fields and target audience by each author.

Augmented reality in education researches (2012–2017): A content analysis (Eğitim araştırmalarında Artırılmış Gerçelik (2012-2017): Bir İçerik Analizi)

Cypriot Journal of Educational Science, 2018

The purpose of this study is to investigate the specific features of the articles on augmented reality (AR) published in the journals of education indexed in the SSCI database between 2012 and 2017. In this context, the articles were examined in terms of their years of publication, number of authors, countries, educational disciplines/fields, types of AR, variables and methodological features. A total of 83 articles in 22 journals were analysed by content analysis. The results showed that the number of studies related to AR increased in 2014 and 2017 and they were predominantly carried out in the field of science education. Marker-based technologies were more preferred in the studies. The most examined variables in the articles were achievement and attitude. AR studies were mostly carried out by scientists working at universities in Taiwan. The sample size of 0–50 was mostly selected from university level, while the sample size of 50–100 was selected from primary school.

Use of Augmented Reality in Learning

Augmented reality offers great solutions in learning because most of high school students are familiar with them. Augmented reality-based applications such as the Pokémon Go 3D, or Quiver and HP Reveal can be used effectively in education. Using AR technology, teachers or even students can create content. For example, triggers using the provided website. The triggers can be image or videos, so the AR experience can be customized. In this study, authors first introduce the augmented reality and a specific application, Pokémon Go, then demonstrate the use of AR in education and finally present a survey conducted among students of a higher education in Hungary.

Experiencing new learning, interaction and visualization process using augmented reality technology

TEM Journal, 2017

Many learning methods have changed the way students learn. One method that is achieving much attention is augmented reality (AR). AR is a technology that blends simulated and real environment during the learning, interaction and visualization process. This study explores how far AR technology has come to support students in their learning and interest in using this technology. The objective of this paper was to determine the usefulness of multiple markers interaction user interface for an AR application. A hands on practical lab was conducted with first year engineering students at UNITEN. Two AR applications were tested by the students using single marker and multiple markers for interaction. The opinions and preferences regarding the two user interfaces (also known as tangible user interface) that can be used for problem solving activities was obtained. The first AR application using single marker comprises two markers to interact with the problem presented. The second AR application using multiple markers on a single paper was used for the same purpose. These two operationally equivalent user interfaces were given to selected students to interact with the AR applications. During the hands on practical, data were collected regarding the student's preference, effectiveness (attractive) and easy-to-use. The quantitative and qualitative analysis which followed, indicated that the multiple markers user interface was more preferred, effective and easy to use.

A Survey on Different Approaches to Augmented Reality inthe Educational Field

IRJET, 2022

Technology in education can help students to learn actively and can motivate them, leading to an effective process of learning. In present days, students can tend to lack the interaction between the real and the virtual world. To solve the above problem and to facilitate passive learning, augmented reality plays an important role. Many educational institutions have adopted the use of AR technology over the traditional technology(e-learning) learning and traditional method of teaching such as chalk and whiteboard, the main reason is due to the fact that AR provides students with a realistic experience making complex things look easier. With the use of AR technology, the students tend to lack misconceptions as the depth of understanding and the visualization are better when compared to the learning from the traditional method. The purpose of this paper is to understand how AR technology is used in educational fields.
