Diversidad de especies de Lepidoptera: Nymphalidae, Papilionidae y Pieridae, en “El Cacao”, Telica, León, Nicaragua, en 2018.

This study was carried out in “El cacao”, located in the municipality of Telica, Nicaragua, 21 kilometers northeast of the city of León, in the months of January-April and July-October of the year 2018. An area of study of 19.0188 hectares. A total of 68 species of diurnal lepidoptera are collected, with 2679 individuals. Hamadryas guatemalena, was the most abundant species with 472 individuals. While, 9 species represented with 1 individual per species were registered. A new record of 3 species is presented, for the western part of the country. According to the Shannon-Wiener index, the month of January has the highest diversity, with 1,306 and the month of April is the least diverse with an index of 0.826. Check the Sorensen index for the comparison between the dry period and the rainy period. A similarity index of 0.76 was obtained.
