Une étude de la proxémique dans quatre classes de Français Langue Étrangère mexicaines (original) (raw)

This article presents partial results of a research carried out under the CECA project between 2006 and 2011. The author examines the use of space, or proxemics, in four Mexican high school classrooms of French as a Foreign Language (Français Langue Etrangère, or FLE). In a first part, she analyses spatial disposition in terms of organization of space (Hall, 1978) and didactic distance (Forest et al. 2005). In a second part, she studies teacher movements (Forest, 2001) and those of students differentiating between pedagogical movements, non-pedagogical movements and those reflecting ritual. She concludes by highlighting contradictions between the expected methodolo-gical orientations and classroom practice.
