High torque control performance utilizing a three level inverters with a simple switching strategy of induction machine (original) (raw)

Abstract
The three level inverters (NPC), present a big interest in the field of the high voltages and the high powers of the fact that they introduce less distortion and weak losses with relatively low switching frequency. This paper present a direct torque control of three level inverters fed induction machine. In order to provide better torque regulation and lower switching frequency, a simple switching strategy was presented using seven level torque hysteresis and two level flux hysteresis controllers to give more options in selecting an appropriate voltage vector. Simulation results have proven a good performance and verified the validity of this approach using Matlab/Simulink.
