The purpose of this study is to compare accounting standards of Iran with international accounting standards. This study has applied objectives and methodology of this research is a descriptive- Survey research. The approaches are represented by interviews with accounting experts from a selected amount of Iranian expert’s auditor the experimental material has been analyzed on the basis of the theoretical framework regarding the background and development of Iranian accounting standards in relation to the internationalization of accounting standards. The study concludes that there are differences to be found between international standards accounting and Iranian standards accounting. Effects of Adopting International Accounting Standards on Financial Statements

To gather some knowledge with regarding to provide some important views and suggestions about the effect of adopting International Accounting Standards is the main objective of this paper. Two methods have been followed to prepare this paper. Firstly, the authors have taken an interview to a manager of a company where recently adopted International Accounting Standards to improve the firms position. Secondly, a case study has been analyzed for getting better and clear knowledge about the effect of adopting International Accounting Standards on firm’s financial statement and decision making process. It has found that there is a great positive impact on cost of capital, the availability of relevant and crucial information accountability of management, operating environment of the business and decision making process of the managers of those companies who are adopting International Accounting Standards.

Adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in some countries led to various problems and stimulated the research efforts regarding to this issue. Turkey, as being a developing country, is trying to integrate to the global economy by amending new regulations such as Turkish Trade Code 2011 or by adopting recently developed guidelines such as IFRS. As a result of the adaptation efforts to the world economy and changing regulations there might be dissension or consensus on emerging issues such as the adoption and mandatory use of IFRS. Major aim of this study is to reveal the personal evaluations of accounting professionals and accounting academicians, whom might be considered as implementation and conception parties respectively regarding to accounting and IFRS. A short questionnaire is directed to 66 accounting professionals and 36 academicians in Konya/Turkey in order to determine the general tendency of professionals and academicians towards IFRS. Results are processed by means of SPPS software and findings are compared quantitatively. This study is designed to shed light on the situation rather than seeking a remedy for a specific problem.

Upon the harmonization and convergence efforts and achievements relating to accounting standards, national and international structures all around the world precipitated their efforts regarding to the consensus on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Standards on Auditing (ISAs). Turkish government amended new codes for Turkish trade in 2012 as part of the reforms for an ultimate and comprehensive economic system and these codes brought some enforcements relating to the adoption and use of international standards. Inescapable interaction between trade codes and accounting and auditing standards led to comprehensive changes and ambiguities both for standard setting bodies and concerned parties. Major aim of this study is to probe the current situation with respect to IFRS and ISAs. The study will be carried on accounting professionals from different organizations with different levels of education and experience in order to reflect the awareness and perception of IFRS and ISAs. A questionnaire is designed and will be addressed to the sample accountants for the sake of determining awareness level and gathered data will be analyzed by means of SPSS software. According to the findings of research, possible solutions will be recommended.

The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that could explain the adoption of international accounting standards by developing countries. The following factors have been selected: economic growth, education level, the degree of external economic openness, cultural membership in a group of countries, and the existence of a capital market. Our results indicate that developing countries with the highest literacy rates, that have capital markets, and that have an Anglo-American culture are the most likely to adopt international accounting standards.

This study tries to get a clear grasp of the factors that might play positively or negatively in a country’s convergence or adoption of the international financial reporting standards (IFRS). Through a comparative analysis between Turkey and the OHADA countries and based on the existing literature, the transition process towards the IFRS and challenges faced by each one is discussed from a historical perspective to the level of development. As a result, it is understood that the adoption or convergence towards the IFRS can be a challenging and a long-term process requiring multiple adjustments. Also, countries may differ in terms of historical past, level of development, cultural and socio-economic aspects which can all influence their transition. Accountants’ Perceptions on the Adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards in Yemen

Developments in the global capital market have made the adoption of International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) more significant than ever before. The purpose of this study is to examine the accountants’ perception of IFRSs adoption in Yemen. We also seek the accountants’ view on whether Yemen should adopt the IFRSs or not, and on the expected time taken to adopt the accounting standards. We also examine the difference in opinion between academicians and practitioners regarding the adoption of IFRSs. In this regard, this study carries out a survey of 48 Yemeni accounting postgraduate students in Malaysian public universities. We find that a majority of the respondents acknowledge the benefits of adopting IFRSs in Yemeni companies. Moreover, a majority of the respondents (82.9%) agree that Yemeni companies should adopt IFRSs.
