Arduino-Enabled Automated Multi-Level Vehicle Parking System

2020

Vehicles not appropriately parked especially in urban areas often results in traffic congestion and poor space management. This work presents the development of Arduino guided automated vehicle parking system that will offer solutions to the problems of inadequate parking space, traffic congestion and the insecurity of drivers and their vehicles. The automated vehicle parking system consists of a multi-slot park and the storage and retrieval system implementation for better positioning of the vehicle. The cabinet of the multi-slot vehicle park were fabricated using mild steel and assembled with bolts and nuts. The storage and retrieval system are made of threaded rods, ball bearing slides, stepper motors, nuts and sleeves coupled unto the system frame by drilling and welding. The motor driver circuit and infrared proximity sensor operates appropriately. The hardware components identify slot availability intelligently and automatically adjust itself for correct parking.

Design and Fabrication of an Automated Multi-level Car Parking System

In this paper, the basic multi-level car parking system with three floors is considered to show the use of control systems in parking systems. The control system will play a major role in organizing the entry to and exit from the parking lots. It also presents the design of multi-level parking lots which occupies less need on the ground and contains the large number of cars. In the modern world, where parking-space has become a very big problem, it has become very important to avoid the wastage of space in modern big Automatic multi-level car parking system helps to minimize the car parking area companies and apartments. The parking lots have an elevator to carry cars to different floors according to the vacancies. The elevator is controlled by a programmable logic controller (PLC) along with the help of some sensors.

— In the today situation, where parking of four wheeler vehicle is very severe problem in urban region for offices and malls. As it takes lot of time is taking to search for free space in urban areas, as the no of vehicles are increasing day by day and making difficult for the public. In this paper, the basic multi-level car parking system with three floors is considered to show the use of control systems in parking systems. The control system will play a major role in organizing the entry to and exit from the parking lots. It also presents the design of multi-level parking lots which occupies less need on the ground and contains the large number of cars.

Microcontroller based multi level car parking system

India being the second most populated country with a population of 1.2 billion and counting, the transportation sector is in an alarming position. Parking vehicles is becoming a nuisance each passing day forcing people to park their vehicles on roads, thus becoming the major cause of traffic jams. Automatic multi level car parking system plays a vital role in avoiding this mess and parking of more and more vehicles is made possible in an arranged manner. This project aims at construction and designing of the micro controller based multi level car parking system using IR sensors.

Design, Simulation, and Implementation of an Automated Lead Screw Based Multilevel Car Parking System

International Conference on Mechanical Industrial and Materials Engineering (ICMIME), 2019

Nowadays space has become a very big problem in big towns and cities. In the era of miniaturization, it's become a very crucial necessity to avoid the wastage of space in big companies, markets, apartments, etc. Here we proposed a solution named automated lead screw based multilevel parking to solve this problem. This motorized car parking system can minimize the area for parking cars. We designed and simulated on the concept of lead screw lifting method and both sides cell after cell parking which is modernized, more efficient and even a space-saving one. This paper gives the information to develop a reduced working model of a car parking system for parking 16 cars within a parking area of 0.542 m². This also aims to develop an automated parking system prototype which will be efficient with minimum cost for densely populated cities in Bangladesh.

DESIGN OF AN AUTOMATED VEHICLE PARKING SYSTEM USING ARDUINO MICROCONTROLLER

DESIGN OF AN AUTOMATED VEHICLE PARKING SYSTEM USING ARDUINO MICROCONTROLLER, 2020

This paper presents an automated car parking system for metropolitan traffic congestion due to increased economic activities. The search for parking space in most metropolitan areas, especially during the rush hours, is difficult for vehicle owners. The difficulty arises from lack of knowledge of the position of any available space for parking at any given time. The proposed system uses infrared transmitter-receiver pairs that remotely communicate the status of parking occupancy to the Arduino and displays the vacant slots on the display at the entrance of the parking lot so that the user gets to know the availability or unavailability of parking space prior to his/her entry into the parking lot. The microcontroller (Arduino), along with Infrared Resistor (IR) sensor are incorporated to monitor entry and exit of vehicles. The vehicles are allowed entry only when they swipe a valid RFID tag at the gate. Each parking slot will have an IR sensor to monitor when it is empty or filled and will update the details on the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) unit.

Real-Time Parking Assistance using Arduino and Sensors

International Journal for Research in Applied Science and Engineering Technology, 2023

Automated Parking System can fulfil parking operations quickly and safely without wastage of time and energy. This study describes a scale model of an automated parking system with an LCD screen that can regulate and manage the number of vehicles that can be parked in a certain area at any given time based on the availability of parking spaces. The employment of sensors during car entry and exit is known as automatic parking. Most current systems aren't fully automated and require some amount of human interference or interaction in or with the system, according to our analysis of a few of the existing systems. We have examined some of the existing systems, and the results indicate that most of them aren't fully automated and need some amount of human involvement.

Design and Simulation of Microcontroller-based Automated Car Parking System

Science, Technology and Arts Research Journal, 2016

There is a crucial need for managing the parking space in big companies, hotels, market places, apartments and etc. This is due to an increase in growth rate of the population in the entire world, which actually leads to the rapid increase in the number of cars being used. However, the availability of parking space is getting limited as most of the land is used for multipurpose buildings. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to design and implement the microcontroller based automated car parking system with the existing limited parking space. The automated parking system will make sure the availability of Parking space and, if confirmed through seven segment displays, the microcontroller will send a command to the gate to be opened so that the car will be allowed entry into the parking space to pa designated slot. Thereafter, the gate will be closed and the updated number of free parking space will be displayed on the seven segment display. The microcontroller based automated car parking system was designed to test the system through simul tested using simulation for its correctness to manage a parking slot that can accommodate 99 cars and it was working properly.

Everything in the modern world is going automatic, we have built a system which can automatically sense the entry and exit of cars through the gate and then display the number of cars in the parking lot. This automated car parking system reduces the time taken to check the space for vehicles by displaying the available spaces for parking on a LCD displayer by using infra red (IR) sensors installed at the entrance and exit. This project is developed using 89c52 microcontroller.

Automated car parking system

2016

The main aim that we have is to create a completely automated car parking system with minimal human interference. With the rising population in the world, time is of the essence and hence we need to minimize the time taken by trivial activities such as finding a place to park in a busy place and avoid traffic congestion. We have seen in existing systems sometimes accidents can occur in parking situations by cars going at high speed o caused by frustrated drivers unable to find a parking space for a long period of time. In our project we propose a smart and automated car parking model that will help the user in booking their parking spaces beforehand and the vehicle will be able to park automatically once in the parking zone .The difference between our project of automated car parking systems is we hope to minimize human interaction as much as possible and make both the vehicle and the parking area fitted with sensors that will help us execute a safe and efficient way of parking. Hence, we aim to provide a completely safe and automated experience that is robust and can be implemented in real time and hopefully be implemented as the general norm for parking systems in the future.
