There were three objectives of this research, namely; (1) to describe the validity, practicality and effectiveness of realistic mathematics approach-based materials to improve students’ math reasoning skill and emotional intelligence, (2) to improve students’ math reasoning skill through developing materials, (3) to improve students’ emotional intelligence through developing materials. In order to achieve the objectives of the research, this developing research used the modification of 4-D development model. There were four stages performed, namely; define, design, develop, and disseminate. The experiment was conducted in grade VII-1 and VII-2 containing 35 students of MTs S Muhammadiyah Sei Apung Jaya. After experiment I and II, this research found that (1) the validity of material was valid based on the experts, the practicality of materials met the standards in which the validator stated that the materials can be used by doing some revision, the result of the observation also sho...

The purpose of the research was to provide knowledge of the effect of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach and motivation on students' mathematical reasoning abilities. This quasi-experimental study employed a pretest-posttest control group design, focusing on fifth-grade students at SDN Lulut 05, Klapanunggal District. Class VA was selected as the experimental group, while class VB served as the control group using purposive sampling. Data analysis involved the N-gain formula and t-test. The results shown: (1) There is a difference in the increase in students' mathematical reasoning ability after being given the RME approach indicated by the N-gain value of 55.5 in the medium category and for the experimental class 36.8 in the low category, then the control class in the t-test (independent) so that the Sig value is obtained. 0.001<0.005, as for deciding in the independent sample t-test. It is concluded that there is a significant difference between the aver...

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of learning materials based on realistic mathematics education approach, as well as improving mathematical problem solving ability and student selfefficacy. Learning materials that developed were lesson plan, student book, student worksheet, mathematical problem solving ability test and self-efficacy questionnaire. This research is a development research by using the development model of Thiagarajan et al. (1974). Learning materials that have met valid criteria according to experts, were tested in class VII of SMP Negeri 17 Medan. The results showed that learning materials based on realistic mathematics education approach met the effective criteria and can improved mathematical problem solving ability and student self-efficacy. Based on the results of the study, it was suggested that mathematics teachers make an effort mathematical learning using learning materials based on realistic mathematics education approach.

This research aimed to describe the effect of realistic mathematical approaches on mathematics learning outcomes of fourth grade students at SDN 4 JatiMulyo. Type of this research is quantitative research using quasi-experimental methods and using one-group pre-test and post-test design. This research is conducted for grade IV odd semester 2019/2020 at SDN 4 JatiMulyo. The population in this research are all fourth grade students of SDN 4 Jati Mulyo with a total of 31 students. The sampling using saturated sampling technique (total sampling), thus the sample in this research amounted to 31 students. The data collection is done through tests, namely pre-test and post-test. The data analysis technique used in this study is descriptive analysis. Based on the result and discussion in this research, it can be concluded that there is an effect of a realistic mathematical approach to the mathematics learning outcomes of fourth grade students at SD N 4 JatiMulyo. This is evidenced by the me...

This research was conducted based on the low ability of students' mathematical representation in the eighth-grade students of SMP N 9 Purwokerto. One of the contributing factors was that the use of the learning approach had not facilitated students in developing mathematical representation abilities. The solution that was considered capable of improving the ability of mathematical representation was to apply the learning process with a realistic mathematical approach. The realistic mathematics approach provided opportunities for students to do modeling, depicting, and symbolizing related to concrete problems. This research was quantitative with a quasi-experimental type with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were all students of grade eight of SMP N 9 Purwokerto. The sample in this study was the students of VIII A with a total of 36 students and VIII B with a total of 36 students. The data analysis used was the z-test and the N-Gain test. The results of the z-test showed a significant effect, the mathematical representation abilities of the experimental class students were higher. Then, the results of the N-Gain test showed that the experimental class was in the medium category and the control class was in the low category. Thus, the representation ability of the experimental class students was higher than that of the control class. The results of this study indicate that the realistic mathematical approach is effective in increasing students' mathematical representation abilities.

This study aims to develop teaching material based on Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) on fractions for grade 4 students in elementary schools so as to produce teaching material that is valid and practical to use in learning. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D). Research applies the ADDIE development model which consists of 5 stages suc as analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This research is conducted at Islamic Elementary School of Raudhah BSD Palembang. Based on the results of validation by material experts that the development of realistic mathematics teaching material based on mathematics education is considered valid with a high score of 88.63%. The results of the validation by media experts were also considered valid with a high score of 87.22%. This teaching material also has practical value as the results of the product test on students obtained a high score of 91.94%. This research proves that the development of mathematic...
Improving Student Learning: Mathematical Reasoning Ability Through a Realistic Mathematic Education
AKSIOMA: Jurnal Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika
This research is motivated by the problem, not the maximum level of students' mathematical reasoning abilities. The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement of students' reasoning abilities with realistic mathematics education. This type of research is a quasi-experimental study to examine the improvement of students' mathematical reasoning abilities through a realistic mathematical education. The instrument used is a test item consisting of a test of mathematical reasoning ability and an attitude scale given to students. In this study, data were obtained to see the increase in students' reasoning abilities with realistic mathematics education in mathematics learning and to see student responses to learning using realistic mathematics education which were analyzed by processing test results data, namely testing homogeneity, testing hypotheses, and testing average differences. mean in both groups using t-test. The conclusion obtained in this study is tha...

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Realistic Mathematics Approach on the learning outcomes of seventh grade students of Junior High School 6 Pekanbaru with quasi-experimental. There are two classes that will be sampled, namely the experimental and control classes with purposive sampling as a data collection technique. The data collection method used is a test with descriptive and inferential statistical data analysis techniques. Descriptive statistical analysis technique was used to describe the power obtained from the measurement results of the dependent variable, namely learning outcomes, inferential statistical analysis techniques were used to analyze sample data (pre-test and post-test). The results of descriptive statistical analysis showed that the average pre-test for the experimental and control classes were 50.10 and 54.31, while the post-test averages for the experimental and control classes were 76.79 and 68.13. In this study, the data were normally ...
