Collection of Pteridophytes in the Herbarium of the University of Silesia (KTU)
2004
The collection of Pteridophytes (Lycopodiophyta, Psilotophyta, Equisetophyta, Polypodiophyta) contains at present (2004) over 2100 specimens representing 44 genera and over 132 taxa-species and subspecies. This collection originates mainly the area of the Upper Silesia and adjoining regions as well as from the whole territory of Poland and from different parts of the world (e.g. Mediterranean Region, Eastern and Western Europe, Asia, North and South America). The KTU collection documents botanical scientific researches and includes materials from inter-herbarium exchange and partially from private herbaria donated as gifts. Good conditions of storage and accessibility of collections provide the opportunity of work with the resources of the herbarium on site.
During several botanical expeditions in the Republic of Macedonia (Mt Jablanica and Mt Baba: Pelister), a new genus Amphoricarpos Vis. and five new species for the flora of Macedonia were found: Euphorbia montenegrina (Bald.) K. Malý ex Rohlena, Prangos ferulacea (L.) Lindl., Tanacetum larvatum (Griseb. ex Pant) Hayek, Amphoricarpos autariatus Blečić & E. Mayer and Allium phthioticum Boiss. & Heldr. Most of them are mountainous Balkan (sub)endemics with less than 30 populations and with the center of distribution in southeastern Dinaric Alps. In this paper we discuss the phytogeographical importance of these five plants in the light of their new, more accurate distribution ranges in the Balkan Peninsula. In addition, new floristic records for the same species in the neighbouring Balkan countries (Albania, Montenegro and Serbia) are also presented.
Gyromitra Fr. Sensu Lato (Discinaceae, Pezizales) in Montenegro
11 taxa of the genus Gyromytra Fr. sensu lato recorded in Montenegro are presented. These are G. esculenta (Pers.) Fr., G. gigas (Krombh.) Cooke, G. geogenia (Rahm) Harmaja, G. infula (Schaeff.) Quél., G. martinii Donadini & Astier, G. megalospora Donadini & Riousset), G. neuwirthi Velen., (= G. esculenta var. fragilis Marchand ex Réaudin, 2008), Gyromitra fastigiata (Krombh.) Rehm, G. parma (J. Breitenb. & Maas Geest.) Kotl. & Pouzar, G. perlata (Fr.) Harmaja and G. tasmanica Berk. & Cooke. The southernmost point of G. geogenia range, for now, was found in this region. G. neuwirthii, G. fastigiata and G. tasmanica are rare entities, new for Montenegro. The latter occures in Southern Hemisphere, previously was reported only in Spain in Northern Hemisphere.
Materials for the red book of vascular flora of Montenegro (second contribution)
pmf.ni.ac.rs
The first contribution to the "Material for the red book of Montenegro" was published in 2008 and it included 30 threatened taxa of vascular flora. In the mean time, new floristic surveys were undertaken and some new chorological data, that helped us to define a conservation status of some rare species, were gathered. In this paper we present 5 taxa categorized as endangered: Ammophila arenaria (L.) Link subsp. arundinacea H. Lindb., Haplophyllum patavinum (L.) G. Don fil., Hydrocotyle vulgaris L., Medicago carstiensis Jacq. and Orchis pallens L., and 4 as vulnerable: Campanula sparsa Friv. subsp. sphaerothrix (Griseb.
Inventory of Pteridophytes on the Territory of "Bulgarka" Nature Park
2015
This study reports data on the diversity of Pteridophyte of the "Bulgarka" Nature Park. Twenty-nine species belonging to the divisions Lycopodiophyta, Equisetophyta and Polypodiophyta were identified, including six new species to the park: Asplenium onopteris, Dryopteris dilatata, Equisetum palustre, Huperzia selago, Ophioglossum vulgatum and Polystichum lonchitis. Among the identified species the ferns were prevailing. Fifteen species were medicinal plants and eight species have conservation significance. The status of the populations and major threats to the habitats were discussed.
SYNOPSIS In this contribution we are presenting joint results of different floristic surveys undertaken over Podgorica, Kolašin, Cetinje, Nikšić and Andrijevica municipality. Following taxa are recorded as new in the flora of Montenegro: Amaranthus caudatus L., Chenopodium strictum Roth., Coreopsis lanceolata L., Dactylis glomerata L. subsp. lobata (Drejer) Lindb., Gymnadenia odoratissima (L.) Rich, Eragrostis barrelieri Daveau, Lobularia maritima (L.) Desv, Platanus x hispanica Münch., Potamogeton coloratus Vahl. and Viola pumila Chaix. In this paper we also included a list of published taxa (rank of species and subspecies), which are not included in Pulević's "Material for Vascular Flora of Montenegro", so the paper presents a kind of second Supplement to Rohlena's Conspectus. SINOPSIS U ovom prilogu smo objedinili florističke nalaze nove za područje Crne Gore, a koji su proistekli iz niza uporednih florističkih istraživanja sprovedenih na području opština: Podgo...
A contribution to the flora of East Bulgaria
Phytologia Balcanica, 2004
New chorological data about 24 taxa are reported in the present work. Nine species are new for the floristic region of the Black Sea Coast, two for the Northeast Bulgaria, four for the Balkan Range (Eastern)-three of them collected in the area of Sliven divide, one for the Toundzha Hilly Country and three for Mt Strandzha. One more species is confirmed for the Balkan Range. Data are also supplied on the new localities of some rare plants, including a second locality for Cytinus clusii in the country.
