This article presents some particularities of film spectator in a digital context, because the digitization process develops new interactions, not only in distribution of audiovisual content in a different platforms and windows, but also in terms of practices and cultural habits, that some point involve new ways of watch films that include factors like mobility, interactivity and image manipulation. In that regard, to identify the transformations it was applied a survey to 785 persons at the National Film Archive of Mexico City on 11th to 12th April 2015. At first, the interest was to identify changes in the forms of watching a movie. Secondly, the intention was to observe the frequency of consumption and identify the platforms for watching movies in the different screens. Finally, the perceptions of mobility, interactivity and image manipulation exerted by the film spectator was evaluated. Overall, this descriptive and exploratory study identified that the preferred place of film spectator for watching films is the movie theater. Nevertheless, the research also found that these preferences are opening up to other devices such as television and computer. Moreover, Internet becomes the platform where the film spectator has access to a diverse range of content; however, these changes are not homogeneous because it depend on gender, age and socioeconomic status of the spectators.
