Processamento De Imagens Como Método Na Diferenciação Dos Tumores De Mama (original) (raw)
Breast cancer has high rates of incidence and mortality, both in Brazil and worldwide. Responsible for the largest cause of death among women in Brazil, breast cancer is the second most common cancer in the world. Among the Brazilian states, Rio Grande do Sul, is the state of the southern region that has the highest mortality rates caused by this cancer. This research consisted of a quantitative analysis of the differentiation of breast tumors using fractal geometry (fractal dimension) associated with the elliptical eccentricity and the compactness index, being of fundamental importance to explore the breast tumors in the investigated mammograms, classifying Them in benign or malignant.
