Comparative Ichthyofaunal Observation of Freshwater Fishes of Shahabad Gulbarga District and Marine Water Fishes of Mangalore Districts of Karnataka (original) (raw)
In this research project a comparison of ichthyofaunal diversity has been considered in the regions of Karnataka. Thus both freshwater and marine water samples have been taken for evaluation. For the freshwater sample collection the Shahabad region has been chosen and samples have been collected from Krishna and Bheema River as well as Bonal reservoir. For the marine sample collection coastal regions of Mangalore have been chosen. The samples have been further taxonomically identified to understand the order and family based distribution of the samples. As a obtained result and with the support of other scholarly articles, it has been identified that there is a greater marine diversity than freshwater diversity in the regions of Karnataka.
