Abstract
Ancient glass functioned as a significant raw material. Initially for the upper classes, glass was used for display; it became an industrial material with the development of different forming techniques, and with the acceleration of production it came to be used by people from every segment of society. In particular, glassware, which appeared in different vessel forms such as plates, cups and bottles, was used extensively for the formation of ornamental items. The use of glass in making bracelets for women has been seen since the beginning of the 2nd millennium BC. With the development of glass-forming techniques, these bracelets, which were produced in different colours and types, became an indispensable part of society, due to an increase in production since the Roman period, and they were used intensely used in the following periods since they were like precious stones. Within the scope of this study, a group of glass bracelets in Samsun Museum has been examined and dated with consideration to their forms and technical specifications.
